Jin thought she was in a Beastie Boy's song; but instead of 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn', it was no sleep till South Korea. Between dancing with Space Invaiderz and work, she had little time to sleep. Every dime she made, went towards money to visit Jay at home. Her passport was ready and she even looked into the option of getting a work visa, if she stayed a while in South Korea. But it was Stone who told her about the E-6: Arts and Performance Visa, which allowed her to work and make money for dancing. It also ran longer than 90 days. If she could stay there until R16, then she only needed to fly there once.
Stone still felt guilty for all the grief he'd given her over the years and so he gave her half of his share of money, made off their crew winning battles. At first she didn't want to accept, but Stone explained that he saw how happy Jay Park made her and he wanted to contribute towards keeping that smile on his sister's face. So Jin finally accepted the money from him. But when the rest of the crew wanted to help too, she declined. They had worked hard for their share and she wouldn't take that away from them. Sometimes her stubborn, independent attitude annoyed them, but they planned on paying for her plane ticket to South Korea anyway. And so Jin had a plane ticket to go visit Jay on his birthday. It was a non-stop flight and that meant being on a plane for almost 11 hours. Her expected arrival time was close to 4pm in Seoul. Once she was there, she'd call Jay's cell. How Chase Malone had found out about her trip, she didn't know, but was grateful that he told her where Jay's studio was in Seoul. He also told her to call him, if Jin couldn't get in touch with Jay.
The day of her flight, found her at the airport surrounded by her crew and friends. Sunny would take care of her apartment, while Jin was away. Jin was nervous and excited all at once. This would be Jin's first time on a plane; leaving the USA; going after someone she loved; jumping into the unknown. She liked the feeling, until the plane hit turbulence and scared the shit out of her. For the whole flight she left her seatbelt on, even when the light showed that it was safe to remove it. The movie shown on the flight was not one she'd seen, so that was good. The food served during the flight, was okay. When Sunny had told her that everything tasted like chicken with airplane food, she had thought that was an exaggeration. Until the beef sandwich, didn't taste like a cow but like a bird. Thankfully it didn't make her sick. She listened to all of Jay's songs that had Korean lyrics. Even though she had tried to complete the Rosetta Stone course in preparation for this visit and to impress Jay, Jin was glad that she'd still loaded a language app on to her phone.
Once off the plane she just followed everyone else to find the carousel with her luggage. Then continued on through security. Thankfully the guy spoke english, when he checked her paperwork, passport and the E-6 Visa. Once she was outside a taxi cab stopped in front of her, he didn't know english, so she just showed him the name of her hotel and it's address. He nodded he knew where the Hotel Princess at 641-1 Sinsa-Dong Kangnam-Ku, was. Then using her language app on the phone, she asked how much it would cost in Won. She knew that one US dollar was equal to approximately one thousand Won.
Arriving at the hotel, she said hopefully to the receptionist, "hello, do you speak english?"
"Yes, welcome to Hotel Princess. Is this your first time in Seoul?"
"First time travelling ever," Jin confessed.
The lady at the counter, helped her check-in, then gave her a map of the local area and suggestions of things to see. "If you have any questions, just ask for me."
