"Thanks!" Apollo said before shutting the door, Amara turned to Kai, "Want to read fan fiction?" Kai thought for a second, "Yeah! I have a good toxic fic for us!"
🍄
"THEY WERE IN LOVE, KAI!" Amara yelled. It was three hours later and the two were yelling at each other while reading.
"HE LEGIT WENT OFF AND HAD SEX WITH HER BEST FRIEND, AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN TALK TO HER FRIENDS any more!" Kai yelled back at her. Amara scoffed.
"IT DOESN'T MEAN HE HAD TO DIE!"
"KARMA WENT FOR HIM!"
"Alright, my throat hurts, let's stop." Amara said, her voice hoarse.
"Okay, are you okay?" Kai asked in a soft voice, Amara rubbed her neck as she nodded, "Yeah."

Kai didn't know when it happened, but suddenly he wanted to call Clam. He was trying to ignore the urge to call his friend, but it was getting difficult.
"Hey 'Mara, can you pass my phone? It's over there."
"Yeah, why?" She asked, passing the phone, Kai opened it and saw his friend's chat open, Clam texted him once, Kai ignored it.
"I just want to call Clam, see what she's up to. You know, that kind of thing."
Amara snatched the phone back. "Wait a minute, Kai, I need to know what you're going to say, I can't just let Apollo yell at me without knowing what you said."
Kai sighed, "I'm just going to say hi and that I was away with my new family and that I hope she's very happy."
"Ugh, fine, but it's on speaker, and I'm in the room."
Kai had already started calling and Clam picked up, "Kai. Where are you? Why haven't you texted? Or called, at least? I've been so worried."
Kai's plan went out the window. Clam texted him at five in the morning, and it wasn't her asking if Kai was okay, it said, 'there's no food. anastasia and i ate it all. go eat somewhere else.'
"You weren't worried, I came in to get my stuff at ten, two days ago, and you texted me at five in the morning, today, you didn't even know I was fucking gone, this is what it's always like Clam, I get it, you're happy, congrats, but you have a best friend who is struggling, and you don't even want to talk to him any more, we made a fucking promise when we were moving in that we wouldn't ever leave each other behind, now its 'I'm going with Anastasia,' or, 'sorry Anastasia and I thought we could do that, bonding experience,' YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR TWO YEARS, HOW MUCH MORE BONDING DO YOU HAVE TO DO? And then your girlfriend comes to the café when I told her I would give her some advice on the two of you, and you know what does, she makes our friendship seem small. And she was right, we barely talk any more, AND WE LIVE TOGETHER CLAM!"
Amara tried to grab the phone, but Kai stood up and walked away from her with the phone.
"Kai-" Amara tried, Kai ignored her.
"I'm just there to pay rent at this point, we've always trusted each other and talked, I texted Raven and Max, and they haven't seen you in a month. A month Clam."
Clam tried to talk, but Kai stopped her, he was finally telling her everything, and he wasn't about to stop now.
"Yeah I get it, you didn't understand the full capacity of being in a relationship, but Clam, we've known you since you were twelve, and you were still confused about what being Gay was. We've been with you longer than her, and we're being set aside, I hope the plan I told Anastasia to do is good, I don't even know if it's still up-to-date. I'm staying with Amara for a couple of days, if you die, I don't care. Fuck you." Kai's eyes were watering.
"Kai, are you fucking ki-" Kai hung up as quickly as he could and fell to the ground in tears, Amara quickly went to comfort him.
"Oh Kai..." Amara said, pity in her voice. She took his phone away from him, placing it to the side, and wrapping her arms around him as his broken sobs rattled the flat.
"I'm so sorry I ruined the night..." Kai cried out.
"No it's okay. You needed that." Amara shushed him.
They sat there for what felt like years, Kai wouldn't stop crying, Amara didn't stop hugging him, she rubbed his back and quietly shushed him whenever he'd try to apologise for 'ruining the night.'
Kai's ringtone had come through at some points. Clam was trying to call him back, but the both of them just ignored it and sat there.
"I'm so sorry." Kai tried in-between loud sobs.
"Hey, we're a family, and family comfort each other. Shut up with this 'ruining the night' bullshit."

Kai had calmed down and was enjoying the─ in his words─ 'after mental breakdown calm' while Amara and him were watching a film, they sat in silence until Kai turned to look at Amara, "I think we should make a bet."
"On what?" Amara tiled her head to the side.
"Brollo." Kai said casually.
"Huh?"
"Dabria's and Apollo's ship name!"
"It sounds like a sweet!" Amara laughed out.
Kai grinned, but didn't laugh. "Oh, it does!"
"Okay, I bet that they're going to kiss on the date, and then get together next week!"
"Okay, how much do you bet on it?"
"Twenty pound." She said.
"Okay! Just don't cry when they don't do that!"
Kai's phone rung again.
Clam.
He ignored it.
Amara and Kai shook hands and went back.
"Want to simp over Apollo's character?" Amara asked when they looked back to the film and couldn't find themselves to focus on it again.
"Yeah!"
"Okay!"
