The rest of Kai's shift went well. At five in the evening Apollo came in, his hands in his pockets. Amara waved him over. They talked quietly while Kai was getting his stuff.
The door opened again, Raven and Max entered for the second time that day. "Hi! Is Kai still here? We need to talk to him!" Raven asked Amara.
"Kai! People like you!" Amara jokenly shouted. Kai came out and looked at the two.
Raven ran up and hugged Kai. "I hit her." She said. Kai pulled away in suprise, "Who'd you hit?"
"Anastasia." Max answered. Kai's eyebrows rose in suprise.
"I was talking to Clam and Anastasia came out, heard we were talking about you and then started telling us about all the things 'you did.'" Raven raised her hands in quotation marks while rolling her eyes. "And I just got so pissed off so I punched her in the face before anyone could stop me. Clam told me to get the fuck out. While we were leaving I told her that she should leave soon because you'd be here around five and that if you say anything or are there that I'd punch her as well. And I told her that she was a little bitch believing Anastasia over Kai who would never do anything like that."
"We would've told you earlier but I had to calm down Raven." Max said. She was in a red hoodie that Raven had bought Max for her birthday. "Red looks good on Max!" Was the reason.
"Okay.... Well... Thank you?" Kai asked.
"Do you want us to help pack?" Max said before Kai shook his head. "Nah I have an emo simp and Amara to help."
"Its just you and Amara?" Raven asked. Kai gasped dramatically.
"No I'm helping." Apollo said as Amara was wheezing in the background.
"Oh, you look like that really hot guy-" Raven started.
"I am that really hot guy. I'm an actor." Apollo said as Raven's face turned red.
"Oh.. Well, I have to go walk my fish. Max lets go." Raven excused himself as she grabbed Max and they left.
"Okay..." Kai waved them goodbye. Amara put her hand on Kai's shoulder. "Ready?" She asked. "My mushroom-" Kai started. Apollo grabbed it. "Well, is my phone in there. I think I left it in the room, I'll go get it and you guys can go, I'll catch up." Apollo checked the bag and took Kai's phone out. "Everything is here, your keys, phone, headphones, wallet and your fidget." Kai opened his mouth to ask about his jacket. Apollo shut him down. "Your jacket is in the car."
"Hey, Tracy!" Amara said to a worker. A short haired brunette turned around. "You are in charge, don't let Emma flirt with anyone, and try not to burn the place down."
"Got it!"
Kai laced his fingers with Amara as the three walked out.

The door opened and Kai walked in, there was a note on his door. It was from Clam.
It read:
"I'm keeping your stuff. I hope you don't keep lying to your friends. you know how I feel about lies. I already have someone lined up to take the room, so don't bother with rent.
-your former friend,
Clam."
Kai ripped it off the door before crumpling it up, taking a step back and throwing it at Clam's door. He flipped the door his middle finger before getting into his old room.
He started putting his stuff in bags he had around. Apollo and Amara started helping him. Kai quietly put a plush mushroom family in their own bag. "How much mushroom related stuff do you have?" Apollo asked. Kai shrugged, "A bunch. Most of it is from when I was a teen."
"Cute art, whoever did this is really good." Amara said as she took down Clam's art off of Kai's walls.
"Yeah really cute..." Kai could remember when Clam gave him the art. Kai kept everything. In the back of his phone he had a doodle Clam did of them on a post-it, most of the art she gave him on birthdays. He could remember the happiness Clam's art brought to him.
Kai felt no happiness toward the beautifully drawn artwork. Now he felt anger. Yet he would still not get rid it.
He wanted that reminder. The reminder of his old friend.
The three finished packing and brought all the stuff down to Apollo's car.
Kai looked around the room.
Then slowly took his earrings off. His favourite earrings. The earrings Apollo and Clam wore to their first dates.
Kai would buy new mushroom earrings so Apollo could wear those now. Of course when Kai wasn't wearing them.
Kai then opened the back of his phone. There was a doodle done by his mum. He hated it. He promised he would never get rid of it.
But today is the day of goodbye's.
A pen sat in the living room. Kai quickly grabbed it and wrote a note.
He then put the note on the kitchen table. And then placed his earrings beside it.

Clam walked into her flat. Anastasia was behind her. The Russian had a black eye from when Raven punched her. Anastasia hadn't stopped complaining about Clam's old friends.
"A-are they there?" Clam's girlfriend stuttered. Clam shook her head. "No."
Kai's bedroom door was open. Everything except from the furniture was gone. Including the drawings. It felt so empty.
"Finally he's gone. I was scared for my life."
Honestly, Anastasia's stories about Kai sounded like lies in the beginning. It was painfully obvious. But the more stuff Anastasia said about Kai. The more it sounded true.
Clam saw bright red out the corner of her eye. She noticed it was on the kitchen table.
There was a note. It was writen in Kai's messy handwriting.
"Clam.
I have not lied about anything. I will not continue to lie about something that I have not lied about in the first place. I hope you and Anastaisa will be happy together. If she breaks your hear please note that I will not be there to help you re-build it. Neither will Max or Raven. You know me better then anyone. You know I would never do anything like that. You have lost us forever.
I've packed up everything that I need to. If there is anything there you don't want then sell it. I really don't give a fuck.
-Kai"
And there, beside the note was a pair of red and white mushroom earrings. The exact same Clam wore on her first date with Anastasia two years ago.
It finally hit.
Her best friends had betrayed her.
All because her relationship with her girlfriend was too strong.
All because the lies were exposed.
