Chapter Five

"Max is so pretty..." Raven muttered quietly, her hand held up her head and she kicked her legs as she lay on her stomach and Kai snorted, "You wanna expand on that?" 

Kai was so sure that Raven and Max were having some sort of a relationship by the way they would mutter about how pretty the other was. 

"What?" Raven shook herself off, "No, why would I? Can you not tell just by looking at her?"

"I don't look at people and say how pretty they are while daydreaming, you see, I'm normal." Kai put his hand on his hip. 

Raven let out a loud scoffing laugh, "That's debatable." 

"No, it isn't. Normal people don't daydream about their friend and also have a crush on some other guy." Kai sat down next to Raven. 

"Normal people also don't lose their virginity in a school bathroom on graduation day." Raven mentioned, making Kai frown. 

"Okay, in my defence-" 

"Here we go..." Raven groaned, rolling over so she was laying on her back, staring at the ceiling, giggling when Kai lightly flicked her. 

"Hey!- Anyway, in my defence, they refused to leave high school with their virginity, I was getting sick and tired of you calling me a virgin, it was a fair exchange." He explained with a smirk as she also moved to lay on his back. 

"You didn't even finish!" 

"That's not the point!" Kai cried out, "Also it was both of our firsts, I wasn't expecting him to be a God and get me off three times in a bathroom stall ten minutes before we graduated high school." 

"You should've at least let him-"

"I'm done with this conversation, Raven!" He yelled over the top of her, Raven's words were heard on deaf ears, she giggled and put her head on his shoulder. 

"Bu-"

"I said no!" he yelled back, Raven yelled louder, "Did you at least finish yourself off!?" 

"No, I didn't, I was getting my freedom five minutes after he finished so no, I didn't 'finish myself off.'"

"How was your night with Amara? Was she sweet?" Raven asked after a moment of silence, "Have they adopted you yet?" 

Kai laughed, "Not yet, I wouldn't blame them if they did, look at this face, no one can resist adopting me." 

"You do have a cute face..." Raven muttered as she looked at him for a second, then she grinned, "Maybe you'll be this whole family and you'll forget all about us?" 

Kai scoffed and rolled his eyes, "I've known you since we were five, that's twenty years, I'm not leaving you for anyone, we'll be friends forever." 

He put up his pinkie finger and Raven intertwined her own finger with his, then she just took his hand and played with his ringed fingers, "I miss when you used to get your nails done, it made your hands look so much better..." 

"But now, everyone can see the anxiety induced nail and skin biting, isn't that so much better?" he grinned. 

 Raven snorted another life and lightly hit his face, "Why did you stop again?" 

"Because I couldn't pay for it and I refuse to take money from anyone?" He reminded the raven haired girl. 

"RIGHTTT..." Raven drawls, "And I'm assuming that's not changing anytime soon?..." 

"When I become a famous actor then maybe, but since I can barely pay rent then nope."

"I could loan you m-" 

"Raven." Kai glares at her, "I still owe you a pound from when you bought me water three years ago, I'm not asking for you to give me thirty pounds." 

"Ughhhhh... fineeeee!" she drawled and sat up, still playing with his hand, "At least paint your nails." 

"I can't, sensory problems." 

"And yet having nail extensions doesn't bother you?" She asked incredulously, "You have weird problems."

"They do but I can't just peel it off, can I?" 

"Huh, makes sense." she nods. 

"I'm just magic." 

"You're an ass is what you are." Raven mutters, giggling when Kai lightly hits her leg, then she watches as he moves to put his head on her thigh, her breath hitches a little but Kai doesn't notice, the wholesome movement has went over Raven's head. 

"I missed this..." Raven says after a while of peaceful silence. 

"Hm?" Kai asks, "What'd you say?" 

"I missed this." Raven repeats and then elaborates, "Us hanging out on our own..." 

"I missed it too..." He smiles.

"And then we just kinda sat there, in silence." Kai finishes his story as he sits on Amara's bed. 

"She totally has a crush on you." Amara rolls her eyes as she does paperwork for her cafe. 

"Are you fucking high? She doesn't have a crush on me." Kai rolls his eyes. 

"I wish I was high, it would make everything so much better..." Amara trails off, "Never mind, okay? She has a fucking crush on you bro."

Kai groaned and fell back, "She does notttttt..." 

"She does sooooo...." Amara mocked, "You're just stupid." 

"I graduated top of my class, the fuck do you mean I'm stupid?" 

"You were one of those young gifted kids who's now depressed and burnt out." 

"-You forget dizzy." 

"-I never forget dizzy, it's on your contract." She rolled her eyes. 

"It is?" 

"Since you're disabled you have certain restrictions and things that I have to provide you with." She explained, "You really need to read the fine print." 

"I don't get paid to read the fucking small print." Kai rolled his eyes. 

"Such an ass..." Amara rolled her eyes and Kai ran his fingers through his hair, messing it up with his hand when it lay back down fairly neatly. 

"Raven said the same thing." 

"Maybe me and Raven would be good friends."

"Raven and I." Kai corrected. 

"What?" 

"You said 'me and Raven, it's Raven and I." 

"Oh fuck off." 

Kai just laughed.

i'm backkkk... 

it's been a long time but i've been burnt out to shit but i have prelims on monday and i decided to crawl back from my hole of my c.ai phase and write this shit chapter (it's not got apollo in it, thats why it's shit.)
