As the night wiled into morning and the morning sun shone brightly over the town, the friends woke up feeling like they hadn't slept which was mostly true I guess.
After they reluctantly had breakfast, Charles looked at Kelly expecting to hear her usual annoying remarks but none came, Kelly was scared because she had finally seen it and seeing is believing right?
Well to Kelly it was and now she was determined to find out what was going on. "What's the plan tho?" Cleo said as she looked up at Charles taking his dishes to the kitchen, "oh well, we're going to the one who warned us about this city and what we were getting into in the first place..." He said then he looked at them for any sign of objection, seeing none," We're going to Mabel's" he added, they hurriedly finished their breakfast well except Liam who just stared at his plate, "c'mon Liam, eat something we have to go and get some answers."
Cleo said as she looked at him,Liam didn't respond instead he got up and walked towards the door then he turned around to look at his friends, "let's go then" Charles said, they didn't want to pester him too much he must have his reasons for not talking.
When they came out of their house, they noticed it was a bit foggy but that wasn't all, they noticed some owls perched on the rooftop of their home, at first they thought the fog was making them see things but the owls were there and they seemed to be..watching them.
Ignoring the stare of the owls, the group made their way to Mabel's doorstep and they rang the doorbell, they had to do it three more times tho because she didn't answer immediately.
When Mabel opened the door, she immediately invited them in and muttered something in another language or something. "Um, Mabel actually we.." Josh begun but was cut off by Mabel, "you didn't listen, did you? Now they're after you? How many rules have you broken" Mabel said somewhat tiredly her tone was filled with unmistakable disappointment, worry and maybe fear?
It was hard to tell since the old woman held her face with her hands. "Well, yh.. how did you know? Are you a witch that can help us? Because that would be creepy but lifesaving" Kelly said as she wondered around the living room touching the antiques that decorated the living room.
Mabel's living room wasn't all that modern, it was decorated in western style, the wall was covered with worn out wallpaper, she had a lot of bull antiques and some kind of horse looking thing. "I know because like I said before, this city isn't some random place that y'all can just walk in and do whatever you want. It has supernatural forces present in it and you've managed to break the two rules I gave you within a week! If I didn't know any better, I'd think y'all just came here looking for a death wish" Mabel said as she got up and walked to the kitchen, the friends followed her.
Her kitchen was larger than her living room, it was a modern styled kitchen, it had those fancy cabinets, cookers and ovens that a young chef would have loved to have in their professional kitchen.
She busied herself with chopping some sausages and onions while she spoke, "I do really want to help you kids because you're so young and still have a lot of things to experience and luckily for you I may not remember a lot about the curse but I do have a library for you to carry out some research AFTER breakfast,if you care to join me that is" Mabel said as she brought out some bacon in a pan and and set it on the stove.
