Kelly and Liam walked hand in hand to their friends upstairs, "well, did you guys have fun in the kitchen? I accidentally saw you two earlier. Sorry not sorry" Charles said as he collect the bag of chips from Liam's hand.

"Oh well um-" Kelly said as she was cut off by Liam. "Yes we did, I know now isn't the time for relationship stuff with the life threatening situation but it happened and I'm not sorry" Liam said as he smiled at Kelly. "I'm not sorry either" Kelly said as she squeezed Liam's hand affectionately.

"Aww, anyway time to start" Charles said as he plopped down on the bean bag at the window side of the room and picked up the book beside the bean bag. When he did that the friends went to different corners of the room and read their books too.

March 5th, 1996.
Today is truly magnificent. I had a good time with the girl I captured today. She was a bit naive but i enjoyed her all the same. The way she cried and pleaded that I let her go, the pain and fear in her eyes, the way she sobbed when I had taken her innocence and finally the way her eyes went wide with shock when I...

Charles shut the book and it made a loud thud. "What's wrong?" Josh asked as they looked at Charles with surprise and concern. "it's just so annoying to read his journal. He was a sick bastard" Charles said as he shut his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well, did you actually expect him to be normal? We have to read it no matter how irritating or disgusting it is, to find a solution" Kelly said as she set her book on the floor.

Charles nodded and in silence they continued to read. They read about how he raped girls, killed them, cooked their corpses, ate some and a lot of other disgusting stuff. From time to time Cleo came across dried blood in her book that blurred the words and made it hard to read.

They continued reading like this for hours until Josh called their attention.  "You guys, he was in a society. He wasn't alone. He was also talking about how others were in lower ranks than him and how he was the only one who saw those things he made the sacrifice to" Josh said as he got up.

"Well, that's not surprising honestly but there's something else..." Kelly said as she held up her book with shaky hands.

"The one who gets the curse shall be blessed with the gift of death. So says Devile. If the curse falls upon a family or a group of people living together. Death shall visit the first who..." Kelly said as leaned on Liam, "the first who what??" Charles asked as his chest tightened with fear.

"The first who invited to the curse to their threshold" Kelly said as she shut her eyes and fell back. "Okay? And that means?" Josh asked as he looked at Kelly a bit worried.

"It means the one who first caused the curse to be on their group or family will die first" Charles said as he held his hands to his chest.

"It can't be, I'll protect you Kelly no matter the cost" Liam said as he held Kelly's face, "Liam, just accept it okay? I deserve to die first anyway. It was my fault that we ended up in this mess" Kelly said as she rested her head on his forehead. "Don't tell me that! You can't die! Not before we break the curse together, move out of this city together and.. and a lot of other things" Liam said as a tear escaped his eye.

"Liam, please don't -" Kelly said as she was cut off by Liam's kiss. It was soft but it became rough. All the while, their friends were sad and in denial about what they just heard. They couldn't believe it.

They saw their reflections of their death but they didn't think... It was going to happen. When Kelly broke the kiss, Liam looked at her. "You know what? We won't ever leave you alone and I'll always carry the things my grandma gave me just Incase. If we don't leave you alone it means they can't ever kill you" Cleo said as she wiped her tear stained face. "Cleo, you can't-" Kelly said as she was cut off by Charles, "she's right Kelly! We're doing this" Charles said as he paced around the room.

They weren't going to let Kelly die, even if she started this whole mess. She was their friend and they'd never leave a friend behind. Although, Kelly was happy with how much they cared about her. She knew they weren't possibly going to be able to stop it right? After all, Death comes when you least expect it.
