"mmm" Cleo moaned and closed her eyes as she chewed the food slowly, "oh my gosh" Kelly said as she took a bite of her food as well.
Josh cooked buffalo chicken lasagna and everyone seemed to enjoy it. "I'm glad you guys like it, I'm going to go make some cocktails that will accompany the lasagna perfectly ok?" Josh said as he rushed to the kitchen.
"It is pretty good tho" Liam said as he took another bite of his food. "Yup" Charles said. "Here you go" Josh said as he handed his friends the cocktails.
"So, we need to talk about what our next step is. We need to know what 'they' want, why they they want it and then we'll be able to solve our issue" Charles said as he set his glass down, "True but how? I think it's high time we looked into the books Mabel gave us" Kelly said as she stood up and got the books down on the table.
Ring ring
"It's my phone. Hello?" Kelly said as she spoke to the person on the other line. "Hmm... Ok.. I see, they should know too. Hold on let me put it on loud speaker" Kelly said as she set her phone down on the table.
"Hello? Well I heard you guys were the last people to see my grandmother. I'm Mabel's grandson, Aiden.
I can't really come to that City because of you know. Everything. She told me about you tho. It seemed she was really fond of you." He said."Hello? Are you still there? Well if you are, I want to give you guys something that my grandmom told me to give you guys. I'm giving you guys the house,if you want it tho." He said as he paused to hear their reply. "Well.. I speak for all of us when I say. We would be honoured to take care of the house" Charles said as he looked at his friends for any sign of disagreement but he saw none.
"Thank you. I really wish I could come myself but I know better than to come to that cursed City " Aiden said. "No offense but could we actually see who we're speaking with?" Cleo asked.
"Well, we'll have to do that another time. Help yourself to any books in my grandma's house. Ok? Bye" he said as he cut the call. "Well, that was weird. Anyway, let's go right now and go get some more books" Cleo said as she slipped her shoes on.
"Right now? It's night Cleo, we aren't supposed to go out at night and what about the threat?" Liam asked as he looked at the floor.
"Well, we've already broken that rule. We're deep in this. The longer we wait, the more powerful this thing could become. I'm scared too but we have to go" Cleo replied, "fine but if I die, it's on you" Liam said, the friends went to Mabel's house once again.
Just like in the morning they were uncertain of what would await them in the house, they already knew that Mabel's corpse had been taken away already and the place had been cleaned up too.
They were only going to get the books and go. Right? How hard could it be to enter the house where they found the dead body of their helper along with a threat written for them by Who knows what in the night alone?
"It's now or never" Charles said as he opened the door, when they opened the door their earlier speculation was confirmed, the smell of detergent along with other cleaning agents was there, the house had indeed be cleaned after the corpse had been taken.
Without saying a word or making a sound, they moved to the library then they repeated everything Mabel did that day to get the door open but it wouldn't budge.
"We have to say some stuff she said but how?" Kelly said. "Actually, look! There are words written on the door frame. Maybe if we read them, the door will open?" Liam said as he pointed at what he's talking about, "I don't know how to speak or read in Latin" Charles said as he looked at it. "Well, I do" Cleo said.
