Mrs Williams shifted uncomfortable on her feet and snickered in bewilderment as she stood rooted to the floor with a grimace, glaring daggers into Lestat like he was a long time enemy who had come to hinder her progress. The little boy really had some nerves to have called out her name in that manner. How dare Someone as lowly as him call her by that name?
Yes. She was truly Drusilla Akuji and no one, not even her closest relatives knew her by that name because it was a pseudonym derived from an infernal inception. She wasn't in a bit surprised Lestat knew her by the name but what got her astonished was how he had the courage to call it out without a single hint of fear in his eyes.
He was that young boy who cried for weeks and months when he was brought into the belphegor chamber years ago, somewhere where the devil's polemicists abide, for a change of heart. He'd been heartbroken and frail back then that he wouldn't even dared to raise a head up when the members of the chambers spoke to him, not even the calmest ones. She'd been the one who watched over him and elucidated every part of his life and made him recover from the bad incidence that occured to him. But even after all she did, he still promised to ruin her plans in the future before he left the chamber for reasons known to only him. Had he come to do that now?
Sighing heavily, Mrs Williams folded her arms and stared intently at the figure in front of her. "How'd you know I work at the orphanage and what do you want?"
Lestat almost scoffed at her words again as he adjusted his standing posture and fixed his full attention on Mrs Williams. This woman surely had something up her sleeve for her to sound this suspicious. "What I want from you, Drusilla?" He asked, faking a confused look and shrugging his shoulders. "I have my Business here, I didn't come to mind yours."
Mrs Williams gritted her teeth in agitation and hit her foot against the floor angrily. "What business could you possibly have here if not that you've come to fulfill the filthy promise you made years ago?"
He'd indeed said he was going to destroy her every plan and he still would if he had the opportunity to but presently, he wasn't here for her. "I did say that before but that's not why I'm here, Drusilla. My prey lives here and I'm trying to keep a track."
Stricken with horror, Mrs Williams clenched her fist into a ball and pointed at him with the other hand. "Your prey lives here? What makes you feel there are any bad people living here and who is that your prey?"
"Do you badly want to know?" He asked with a teasing smile and leaned in towards her, his ocean deep eyes igniting a ting of burning fire. "Then tell me why you are here."
Breaking out in cold sweats, Mrs Williams unclenched her fist and wiped away the beads of perspiration on her forehead, wondering in bewilderment how the young boy she'd trained could put her in tight corner. She wasn't stupid to that certain level where she'd tell him her plans because he was really going to give her a hindrance and ruin it. "I only came to work at the orphanage to earn money. What do you think I'm trying to do?"
"I think you're after your prey, too. The last time I checked, you've never worked at a place without creating a chaos. Ever wondered why I hated you so much back then at the chamber? Because you were full of evil."
Lestat remembered the first time he met Drusilla, she'd been laughing hysterically in the gory cottage with the belphegor's right hand woman and narrating a story of how she maimed a whole family at where she worked as a maid through her lies and dubious deceit. Then, he was still very naive and recovering from the shock of his sister's death and had cried throughout the day in his dark room, wondering why the devil's polemicists were so full of evil. Since then, he'd promised to waylaid every of Drusilla Akuji's future plan to destroy people's home and lives. He simply could not stand and watch her do what she wanted just because she had the power.
Mrs Williams cleared her throat dramatically and unfolded her arms. Lestat was right about her having a prey at the orphanage, too but she thought it shouldn't really bother him because he also had someone he was after, too. They were both planning to do something awful after all. "I don't care if you know my plans already, just stay out of my way."
Lestat nodded severally in agreement to what she said much more to Mrs Williams' surprise and returned to his normal posture. "I'm not going to stop you from doing whatever you have in your mind, just tell me who the person is and I'll let it slide."
Was he really trying to get on her nerves? This was the boy she had full control over years ago. He couldn't be exchanging words with her this way! Mrs Williams thought and rolled her eyes. She couldn't even tell him who the person was because he obviously would not let her go on with it.
"And what if I say no?"Lestat's eyes darkened immediately he heard this and he brew an awful laugh into the air. "Have you forgotten we all have a secret pass into the belphegor's chamber? Once I show it to everyone here, we're both going to burn in hell." He retorted and slammed his fists against the wall, boring holes into her dry eyes.
The secret pass was a round shaped constellation plate with different infernal names encrusted on it that every member of the chamber poccessed. It was made for the recognition of every member at the cottage and was also used as an access to get into the inner chambers for meetings. It was a dangerous piece of asset no one outside of the membership must see. Peradventure one of the members was caught with it by the town people, such a person would be burnt to death.
Mrs Williams swallowed hardly, her lips quavering helplessly. "You're going to betray everyone?" She asked in disbelief and shook her head. "After we helped you gain your stance?"
Lestat nodded again, ignoring her last words and demanded in a bare whisper, this time, more calmer and less threatening. "Now tell me who the person is and what he/she they did to you."
