Heidi woke up with a splitting headache, immediately reaching up to hold onto her head.
"Are you feeling okay?" Steve asked when he noticed she was awake, smiling down at her. He had her sleeping with her head in his lap on the couch in their bedroom, carefully tucked in with a blanket.
"The room is spinning." Heidi admitted, closing her eyes again. Steve chuckled and started to massage her scalp with one of his hands lightly.
"I bet it is." Steve said softly with another small laugh. Heidi laid there with her eyes closed for a while, but she didn't go back to sleep.
"Where's Wendi?" She asked as she finally got her brain to calm down enough to open her eyes, smiling up at her gorgeous fiance.
"On the couch in the other room." Steve told her, he knew Wendi would panic if she woke up in a room alone or with one of the team so he just had Thor leave her in their livingroom in the penthouse.
"She's gonna be so disappointed not to wake up with Tony." Heidi joked, reaching and wrapping her arm loosely around Steve's waist.
"Stark doesn't do blackout drunk, it's one of his only good qualities." Steve mentioned. He heard Wendi in the other room lightly stir and knew she was about to wake up. "Do you want me to go tell Wendi where she is so she doesn't worry?" He asked.
"Yes, please." Heidi said, unfortunately picking her head up from his lap and slowly sitting up. She rested her head against the back of the couch, curling her knees up to her chest.
Steve hopped up and headed out to the livingroom, crouching down to Wendi's level when he saw her open her eyes and look around lost. "You're in our penthouse." He reassured Wendi. Wendi looked at him panicked and held her hand over her mouth.
"Nope, not on the couch." Steve said, scooping Wendi up and darting them into the extra bathroom next to Heidi's office. He sat her down just in time and was able to quickly gather her hair as she emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet. He just crouched down to her level unsure of what to do with her, he wished Heidi wasn't just as bad off so she could come comfort her friend.
When Wendi was done she laid her arm on the seat, resting her forehead on her arm and groaned. Steve laughed and carefully pulled her hair into a ponytail with the hair tie he had on his wrist for Heidi. "I'm going to get you some water." He offered before standing up and heading out to their kitchen for a bottle.
"Is she okay?" Heidi groaned from the bedroom. Steve grabbed her a bottle of water as well and brought it to Heidi with a bottle of aspirin.
"Just a little sick." He said. "Are you going to be sick too?" He asked, Heidi shook her head no and chugged half the bottle of water in one go.
"I uh.." Steve started to feel uneasy about having to take care of Wendi, worried Heidi would be jealous or uncomfortable. "I should go check on her...."
"You're fine, baby. I trust you, but yes you should definitely check on her. If she's not totally sober she's a flight risk." Heidi mentioned. Steve let out a laugh, releasing all the tension in his face, he felt silly for thinking Heidi wouldn't want him to help her friend.
When Steve got back to the bathroom he left Wendi in she was just how he left her, he crouched down and handed her the water. She took it but didn't drink any, just held the cold bottle to the side of her face. "Are you going to be sick again?" He asked. Wendi shook her head no but didn't bother to open her eyes. "Do you want to go back to the couch?" He offered, nobody wants to sit on the bathroom floor. Wendi nodded, moving the bottle to the side of her neck and let out a long breath. "Do you want a hand or are you good?" He asked her. Wendi groaned and finally opened her eyes at him but didn't answer or move.
