Chapter 58

Bucky hopped out of the car first, opening Heidi's door for her and offering his hand. Heidi shifted to sit sideways in the seat and reached both arms out, she knew she couldn't get out of the car alone.

"You gotta pick her up, the car is too low for her." Steve said to Bucky. Bucky crouched down and wrapped his arms around her, she wrapped her arms around his neck while he gently pulled her out of the car and onto her feet.

"Thank you, Bucky. You're so nice." Heidi said with a sniffle as she kept her arms around his neck.

"None of that, sugar." Steve said with a slight chuckle as he grabbed Heidi's stuff out of the trunk.

"But you're both so nice to me." She said as she started to tear up, Bucky gave her a quick hug, rubbing his hand up her back lightly.

"Yes we are, but don't cry." Bucky said. Steve joined the two at the side of the car and Bucky released Heidi from his hold to take the box from Steve.

"You've got a presentation in an hour." Steve said, leaning down to kiss Heidi's forehead.

"You're right, let's go." Heidi said as she blinked back a few tears and got back to reality. The three walked into Stark Industries together, security stopping them at the door.

"Whats your business here?" The guard asked.

"I'm Heidi Rogers, COO. You don't need to know my business here." Heidi said sternly. Bucky watched in awe as the weepy pregnant woman from five minutes ago disappeared in front of them.

"Can I see some ID to prove that?" The guard asked.

"How do you not recognize freaking Captian America?" Heidi snapped.

With almost perfect timing Tony stepped out of the elevator, smiling when he saw Heidi.

"There's my girl." Tony said happily as he pushed through security and gave Heidi a big hug.

"Did you still need to see my ID?" Heidi asked with a smirk.

"You asked your boss for ID? Are you stupid?" Tony asked with a huff as he pulled Heidi past the man with an arm around her shoulders. Steve and Bucky quickly behind them.

"Say the word and he's fired." Tony promised as they four reached the elevator.

"We don't need to do all that, he's just doing his job." Heidi promised. When the four reached the top floor Tony separated from them to head to his office, leaving Steve, Bucky and Heidi together.

Heidi headed for her office, Bucky and Steve each close to her side. She was surprised when she saw her office at Stark Industries almost matched her office in the lab. Tony had hung the large picture of her and Steve's first kiss from their wedding, Bucky's uniform on the left and their wedding party on the right. But on the other side of the office was the picture from the morning of her wedding, her fast asleep on Thor's chest, Clint fast asleep on her stomach. She couldn't help but laugh when she saw it, but she stared a little too long at how skinny she used to be, she felt like a whale now. She worried she'd never get back to that size again.

"Whats wrong, sugar?" Steve asked when he saw the shift in her mood.

"I'm so fat now. What if I never get back to that?" Heidi said with teary eyes as she pointed to the picture of her, Thor and Clint. Steve was quick to wrap his arms around her, staring down at her. "You are not fat, you're pregnant. But the doctor even said he was worried about how little weight you've gained this whole time." Steve reminded her.

"What if you don't like me anymore because I'm fat?" Heidi said, staring up at Steve with tears in her eyes.

"I could never stop loving you, sugar. You're perfect, always have been." Steve promised.
