Chapter 50

Heidi and Thor were walking around Asgard, he was happily showing her around his beautiful planet. He had his arm around Heidi's shoulders as they walked. He also had a timer on his phone for the hour a day she was allowed to walk, ready and willing to carry her the second that hour had passed. Heidi had been in Aagard for a week and was worried how much longer it would be before she'd get to go home, she was missing Steve like crazy. She missed his arms around her, his smell, his smile, everything.

"We have to see Hemidall." Thor said as he started to speed walk but Heidi dragged behind.

"Thor I am very pregnant and over a foot shorter than you. I can't walk that fast!" Heidi said with a huff. Thor stopped in his tracks and lifted her to his chest before taking off towards Hemidall.

"Hemidall, what is it?" Thor asked as soon as they reached him.

"Your men, they're in trouble. They're being hunted by police and a man in a black suit." Hemidall answered.

"Thor...we have to go to them. I can stop the cops." Heidi pleaded.

"You are here to stay safe, to stay out of it." Thor answered.

"They're not safe, Thor. They intend to kill Bucky. I can't let that happen." Heidi protested.

"Heidi, I'm not risking your safety for this man." Thor argued.

"Steve will die for him! Thor, I cannot lose my husband because you won't let me go. Dustin cannot grow up without a father for this!" Heidi argued, feeling a sting of tears as she thought about it.

Heidi wasn't even sure how but after arguing for what felt like forever Thor and Hemidall agreed to find the men. When they arrived on earth they were a ways back, Steve and Sam were holding their hands up in the air in surrender. She watched them sink to their knees as the men with guns closed in on them. Bucky, however, remained standing with his hands at his sides.

"You trust me, right?" Heidi asked Thor who nodded. "Then go." Heidi demanded.

"I'm not leaving you here." Thor said sternly.

"Go, I promise. I have a plan." Heidi said as she sped off towards the commotion. She slipped past the cops forming a barrier and the crowd. One of the larger cops hit her roughly in the face with the butt of his gun, she quickly ducked before he could get another swing in and ran to Bucky. She pressed her back firmly against his chest.

"Ma'am, step away from the man. He is dangerous." A cop shouted to her. This pulled Steve and Sam's attention to Bucky. Steve looked like he was debating killing everyone around him to get to her.

"Don't touch her!" Steve yelled sternly, she saw a cop push the barrel of his gun into Steve's back and cringed in terror that her husband was about to be murdered in front of her.

Heidi quickly spit the blood out of her mouth and raised her hands up in surrender. She had blood between her teeth and coming out of her nose from the cops blow.

"What are you doing?" Steve yelled, he was still on his knees, his hands up in surrender but she could see how overwhelmingly mad he was.

"Quiet!" A cop said to Steve who couldn't take his eyes off of his wife.

"I can't let you kill him." Heidi said loudly.

"We're not here to kill him." The cop yelled back. He had his gun pointed at her and Bucky.

"Get the fucking gun out of my face." Heidi spat. The cop took a few steps closer, not lowering his weapon.

"My husband will rip your head off if you shoot me." Heidi warned.
