Steve woke up first, happy to see Heidi still sleeping soundly in his arms, her cheek pressed into his chest with an arm around his torso. Their legs were lightly tangled together. He laid there just staring down at her with a smile, he was irrevocably in love with her. He just laid there and watched her sleep for easily another hour before she finally shifted in his arms, Steve wasn't sure if she was waking up or having a nightmare so he started lightly rubbing her back.

"That feels nice." Heidi sleepily groaned, nuzzling in closer to Steve but not opening her eyes. Steve smiled and leaned down, kissing her forehead.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked. Heidi let out a happy hum and tightened her grip on him. "Once you were here, yes." She admitted.

"Did Thor not help?" Steve asked, he kept rubbing her back since she seemed to enjoy it so much.

"He was fine, I need to get used to it. I can't keep you away from your job or the team." Heidi said with a soft sigh, finally shifting to smile up at Steve.

"Yes you can. But Thor and I aren't going anywhere until we catch these guys." Steve promised her.

"How about just until something very important happens?" Heidi bargained with him.

"It would have to be pretty bad to keep me from you." Steve said with a light smile.

"We both know what that would be." Heidi said, her eyes meeting with his for a moment. She knew Steve wouldn't be able to stay away if he found Bucky again, they'd just met after Bucky saved him from the Hellicarrier and he'd been missing ever since. Heidi wanted him to find his friend, she wanted him to intervene if he heard even a rumor that he was spotted somewhere.

"It's been almost a year, I'm not holding my breath. He knows how to stay hidden. But we'll figure that out if we ever get there." Steve reassured her.

Steve heard the elevator open and sighed, he loved having the penthouse just to the two of them but you can't exactly lock an elevator. Of course he could ask FRIDAY to not let anyone up but Tony would override that just to spite him.

"Capsicle." Steve heard Tony say from the elevator. Heidi moved to let Steve up. "I'm not leaving the floor, okay?" He promised Heidi, she simply smiled up at him and laid her face on his pillow.

"What's up, Stark?" Steve said as he stepped out of the bedroom and approached Tony.

"I have Heidi's new phone. But I wanted to tell her that her old phone has been going off like crazy." Tony admitted.

"The stores probably don't know she quit yet, I'm sure it will die down soon. Have they called her again?" Steve asked quietly.

"Several times. But they don't leave a voicemail, I'm sure they were just trying to get in her head, crack her." Tony said with a huff, he hated seeing this happen right under his nose and not be able to stop it sooner.

"Some girl name Wendi keeps calling though, repeatedly." Tony said. Heidi heard him faintly and climbed out of bed to meet up with Steve and Tony.

"Wendi was calling me?" She asked as she met Steve at his side and put her arm around his torso, feeling the familiar comfort when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders protectively.

"She hasn't stopped in two days." Tony admitted. He handed her a phone, her new phone.

"Nobody has this number, just the team. But if you trust this Wendi person I can check her out and put her number in there too." Tony offered, Heidi nodded. "She's my best friend, my only friend really besides you guys. I trust her." Heidi promised.

"Very well. I know you're scared of the big bad world and all but your car is here if you wanted to see it." Tony said casually with a shrug.

"Stark.." Steve warned, mocking Heidi for being scared was going to do nothing but piss Steve off and upset Heidi, her fear was perfectly rational.
