Steve's meeting was simply Fury updating them on Hydra. When everyone was released he stayed behind, furious with Tony.
"What do you need, Capsicle." Tony said without looking up from his phone.
"What do you think I need, Tony? I need you to go apologize to Heidi" he demanded.
"How was I supposed to know she didn't come out of my bed? She's clearly my type and you never bring home a date." Tony argued.
"Tony.." Steve warned.
"Fine, next time she's here I'll apologize" Tony said with a huff.
"Good, she's upstairs now" Steve said with a victorious grin before walking away.
When Steve got back to his room it was 10:30AM and Heidi was still sleeping soundly in his bed. But the note and her phone were moved, so she must have woken up at some point. Steve sat on the couch across the room and drew in his sketchbook. He wanted to sleep, he'd been up for over an entire day now. But he didn't want to crawl in his bed beside her, he worried it would freak her out.
Steve drew Heidi sleeping in his bed, he was almost done when her phone went off. He was about to jump up and shut it off when she groaned and reached for it, her eyes still closed.
"Heidi Shaw, how may I help you" she answered in an adorable sleepy voice. She shot up, whatever she heard must have been bad. "Okay, lock the store, I'll be there as soon as I can. No, no, it's okay. Just shut the store down but none of the workers leave" she said before promptly hanging up.
Heidi put her head in her hands, letting out a loud sigh before picking up her head and opening her eyes, Steve was smiling over at her from the couch. Steve crossed the room quickly and stood at the side of the bed.
"Is everything alright?" He asked.
"One of my stores was robbed. I have to go deal with the police and keep my associates from having a mental breakdown" she said as she climbed out of bed.
"I'll take you" Steve declared.
"Have you even slept yet? I'll Uber there it's okay, the store is only an hour away" Heidi said, stepping close to Steve and putting her hand on his chest.
"I'm fine, let me take you" he said with a smile, he was exhausted but hid it well. Any time with her he would cherish. He leaned down and gave her a soft kiss, Heidi yet again felt like she would melt at his touch.
"Okay. I just need to freshen up, I can't show up at the store doing some kind of walk of shame." Heidi joked. Steve released her from his grip and directed her to his restroom.
"I don't know what a walk of shame is by the way." He said as Heidi shut the bathroom door laughing.
Once in the bathroom Heidi took a paper towel and wiped her makeup off and ran her fingers through her hair to hopefully straighten it out. She had slept but wasn't rested, sometimes she regretted taking the district manager job. She missed the days of carelessly making coffee for 6 hours then going home. But this job paid way too well to give up.
When Heidi was ready Steve guided her back to the main floor, Tony stood up to make his promised apology but she walked right past him as if he didn't exist.
"We have to go, Tony, work stuff" Steve said as they walled outside, Tony followed.
"I didn't give you any orders" Tony said.
"Nope, my job. Women have jobs now a days, Stark. We dont just sleep with billionaires." Heidi said as she continued her way out of the compound.
Steve quickly explained the robbery to Tony and rushed after her, opening her car door as always. Heidi quickly programmed the GPS to the location and Steve sped off calmly with his hand on her knee.
