"Holy shit, Xen, dad's gonna have a meltdown. What if-"
"Hey, can you do me a solid?"
Blinking at her older brother, Y/n asked, "Yeah...?"
"Shut the hell up. You're gonna be fine."
Just as the duo walked into the house, their father's voice rang out cheerfully, "Y/n! Xen! How was the whirlwind adventure you call school today?" His tone indicated he was already clued into the day's events.
"Bro got expelled. Didn't you receive the message?" Xenon said, gesturing at Y/n.
"Oh? What happened?" Freyr asked, eyes sparkling with amusement.
"She punched a bully in the face," Xenon replied.
"He was being mean and unreasonable!" Y/n said, defending her actions.
"He still in one piece?" Freyr asked, his laughter barely contained.
"More or less. He's got a nasty concussion, and will likely be seeing monsters under his bed for a while," Y/n admitted, her cheeks flushing a light pink.
"Oh, well, no harm done! We'll just sign you up for an online school," Freyr replied as casually as if discussing the weather.
"Are you for real?? I just got kicked out of school!"
"No worries. The online school has a great curriculum, and you'll get more control over your schedule-"
"See! I told you, drama queen! Dad couldn't care less! What were you freaking out about?" Xenon grumbled, an unmistakable grin tugging at his lips despite his feigned annoyance.

"Thanks- oh no, not the square cups again..."
