(1 week later)
This week has been...hectic.
I spent the week wandering around the Assembly, snapping pictures along the way. At first, I made the mistake of wearing my usual black, baggy attire - which caused everyone to stare at me. Uncomfortable with all the attention, I switched to some Liyuen clothes and suddenly, I was part of the crowd. It's amazing what a change in wardrobe can do.
And let me tell you, normally I'm a total homebody. I would never leave the house unless I was forced by Xen or my dad. Cleo's always pestering me to "go outside and touch some grass," but it's not like she's out there frolicking in the sunshine either. Honestly, I probably won't see her for a while. Or ever again. But I digress.
Now, with the lack of internet and social media, staying in the mansion all day is extremely boring.
I've played genshin on my phone, but each time the same content played out again - the same banner of Wanderer's, the same timeline that synced to the real world, and the same lack of co-op. I hadn't heard from Cleo in days either. Last I heard from her, she was headed for the shower. Knowing her, she probably forgot about the time difference between the two worlds and is still in there.
But hey, at least I have a good memory. Maybe I'll just reminisce about the good times while I wait for her to finish up in the loo—
No. Staying inside is actually driving me insane. Therefore, I went outside.
See, Cleo! I touched grass!
Anyways, I realized I have a problem.
I am broke. Both on mora and primogems. I really need to start farming chests to unlock more skills and survive in Teyvat. I have to become stronger. You see, some of the skills in the shop are just straight-up overpowered. Actually using it in combat or not, they'll come in handy for the long run.
Therefore, I needed to earn money. I can't just eat Marchosias's food all the time. After a week of living and adjusting to the city, I decided to venture outside. In Teyvat, what better way to easily earn mora than to complete commissions?
As I stumbled upon a building that seemed to resemble an Adventurer's Guild, I approached one of the workers inside.
"Excuse me, is there any way I can accept commissions around here?" I asked, hoping to kickstart my career as an adventurer.
"Of course! You've come to the right place. New adventurer? Go talk to the person inside that booth!" the worker replied with a friendly grin.
After accepting some of the easier commissions, I pulled up my trusty 'maps' app - which, thankfully, worked exactly like my Genshin map. With the help of the purple markers indicating commission locations, I set off on my quest to collect ingredients and deliver fruits to a nearby village.
As I chatted with Lanfen, who seemed to be the expert on all things commission-related, I mentioned that I had just moved into the city last week.
"Ah, I see! Welcome to the Guili Assembly! Wait, you live in the central part?!" Lanfen exclaimed, surprised by my response.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "Yes, is that a problem?"
"Well, people living in the central part are usually either important figures or extremely wealthy...I am curious as to why someone like you would want to accept commissions. There's not much you can gain from it after all," Lanfen replied, clearly puzzled by my choices.
"Well..." I trailed off, not wanting to reveal too much about myself.
Thankfully, the conversation soon shifted to my safety in the wilderness. "Do you know how to fight?" Lanfen asked me.
