Waking the following morning, Frank felt like his emotions were suspended between that of elation and guilt. He was giddy inside almost at the events of the previous evening; making love to his one true love again, having thought he had lost him forever. Yet at the same time he felt guilt prick away at his conscience. Had Gerard really been ready for that next step? It was all very sudden in the grand scheme of things, and he was still very vulnerable after all.

Not to mention still fucking married!

He groaned internally at the situation. He hadn't taken advantage, he was sure of that, but what if Gerard regretted it this morning the instant he awoke. It would set them both back enormously.

He lay on his side and marveled at the sight of Gerard lay next to him. Sensing him stir he began to panic a little at the possibility of 'morning after shame' creeping up on him. What if he was horrified at what he and Frank had done? He was all caught up in the moment after all, so maybe he had just gotten swept along with the whole thing.

Frank swallowed hard and prepared himself for the worst.

What he was met with when Gerard did finally open his eyes, however, was a beaming smile and a pair of hands reaching out to him. He let out a shuddery breath and leaned into him, relaxing as he felt Gerard's arms embrace him close to his chest.

"No regrets?" he nervously mumbled from the confines of the warm skin surrounding him.

Gerard squeezed his arms a little tighter around Frank's small frame.

"I told you last night. None. Never. God Frank last night was amazing" he said; Frank hearing the inflection of a smile in his voice. "Do you?" he now asked hesitantly. "Do you regret it?"

"No. Fuck no!" Frank replied, lifting himself up on to his elbows and looking down at Gerard. "I was just worried I'd, I dunno, somehow overstepped the mark. I just..........."

Gerard pulled Frank's face down towards his own and into a gentle kiss. Frank sighed into it, feeling his worries float away.

"I want this Frank" Gerard said as they parted. "I want us. I can feel it, you know, how good we were, and how in love we were. And I want that back Frank. Fuck, I really want it."

"I do too" Frank said in barely a whisper. "I can't let you go Gee."

Leaving the car a couple of hours later when they arrived at the clinic for Gerard's appointment, Frank noticed the area was a little busier than normal. Upon closer inspection, he noticed the presence of one or two paparazzi. He protectively put his arm around Gerard's shoulder and dropped his sunglasses over his own face, before scurrying inside. He knew it wouldn't have been long before they were spotted - the mystery of Gerard Way's whereabouts and well being being too good a story not to cash in on.

He didn't mention anything to Gerard and instead concentrated on the therapy session and the advice of his consultant. He was extremely pleased with Gerard's progress and credited Frank for the increase in his memory recall. Frank didn't believe he had done anything at all really. He'd simply done what was asked of him - made him all the right wholesome foods suggested, tried not to worry him about anything, driven him around to anywhere that could trigger a memory and tried to ensure he had a good sleeping pattern. The consultant assured him he was doing all the right things, but the fact that Gerard was so comfortable around him and that Frank would tell him all about his past, with patience and perseverance was making a real difference.

The two told him about the new memories filtering through, particularly the one about Pansy, and the doctor suggested reading more about himself in magazines etc. to hopefully learn more about his past and ultimately unlock all of his memories. He told Gerard that he was more fortunate than the many others that came to see him, with his past life being well documented, whereas most people just had family stories and a selection of photographs to help them.
