Chapter 30: Tenya vs Kimi

"Welcome back family and friends, the second round of battles will now commence." The speakers boom Midnight's sadistic voice all around the stadium as the crowd screams and cheers for the first year students. The crowd was very large this year, everyone wanted to see the first years that survived a villain attack in person.

There were eight of us remaining in the one on one battles. My next battle was against Tenya Iida. Glasses guy. This was yet again going to be an easy battle.

"The eight remaining contestants are Mina Ashido, Izuku Midoriya, Eijiro Kirishima, Katsuki Bakugou, Tenya Iida, Fumikage Tokoyami, Kimi Akio, and Shoto Todoroki!" Midnight said. "Please look up to the screen to see who you will be battling next."

Huh, Izuku and Shoto. I wanna see how this goes, this could turn out to be a very good battle.

"Our first battle will be Kimi Akio vs Tenya Iida. Contestants please make your way to the arena!" Midnight says, snapping her whip to signal the rest of the students to get out and go sit down.

I noticed that class 1-A is the only class left. That's because we've learned not to hesitate. We've seen the real world, what pros have to face everyday. This is only the beginning, there are worse dangers to come.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, the first battle of the second round will commence in 3...2...1...BEGIN!" Present Mic shouts, almost bursting my eardrums as well as everyone else's.

Right as the buzzer goes off, Iida rushes towards me, but I am prepared with a dodge. I sidestep to the right as he rushed past me. He seems to expect this move from his previous battle with Mei Hatsume, the girl from support, because he grabs my hand before I can evade. His other hand finds the small of my back and he attempts to push me out of bounds.

Before he can reach the out of bounds line, I split open the ground and both of us tumble into it, I close it up above us, leaving Present Mic and the rest of the arena in shock.

Trying to map out my surroundings, I estimate that we are now under the ground but out of bounds. I open up the ground again and maneuver the air to shoot Iida out of the ground, it is hard because he has a death grip around my arms and legs, like a toddler clinging to his mother.

But I manage it and he shoots above me, right as he reaches the air, I close up the ground again and teleport via earth back in bounds. I shoot up out of the ground and do a flip and land directly on my feet, meanwhile Iida had landed on his head, with his feet bent at a weird angle above his head.

I'm not sure that this was allowed with the rules because I technically went out of bounds before the match was over, but I'm not sure anyone saw. To them it looked like I teleported Iida out of bounds and made myself invisible until he landed.

"I- Kimi Akio is the winner of the match!" Mic shouts, he sounds surprised. "This young hero has potential, don't you think so, Aizawa sensei?"

"She is a young woman with much potential to become a good hero." He said with a deadpan expression and a monotone voice, but I heard a hint of proudness in his voice that only a trained ear could pick up.

Iida-kun starts walking towards me as we both make our way out of the stadium and join the rest of class 1-A.

"You did really well out there Akio-san." He says to me, moving his arms in a robotic motion, a smile on his face.

I smile, "Thank you Iida-kun, you have much potential to become like your older brother, Ingenium." I smile back at him, he is really going to be a great hero.
