You turn to see Alhaitham a few meters away from you. You quickly turned, wiped your tears and hung your head low when you heard his footsteps.
"What are you doing here?" You mumbled, voice shaking as you mentally cursed yourself for making your sound so obvious that you just cried.
"I should be asking you the same thing, What are you doing here?" he asked as he finally was standing next to You, leaning on the railing. You knew he was staring at your figure, You were sure he had noticed you were crying by now.
"I'm on a break and decided to go out for fresh air. Now, answer my question," you said as you rested your arms on the railing again. Alhaitham scoffs at your answer.
"You? On a break? Are you really the Y/n I know?" He said as you could only bury your face in your hands, not knowing what to answer to that. Had I really changed that much? You thought to yourself.
"I don't even know at this point. Also, stop avoiding my question, will you?" You laughed bitterly at what you said, not knowing what to do at this point.
"I was buying snacks at the grocery store near here, then I was supposed to walk home when I saw your figure here. I didn't think it was you at first, but I could confirm after a while. Aren't you supposed to be home by now? I'm surprised you even took a break." You stayed silent as he spoke, not bothering to look at him at all.
"I figured something was wrong since you wouldn't go out at a time like this, on exam week too." He said. He wasn't wrong at all. You hated that about him. That he could read you like an open book.
You shook your head before mumbling. "No, nothing's wrong. You should go home already." Knowing Alhaitham, he already knew you were lying by now. He turned to face your figure before he reached out for your chin. When he finally had a hold of it, he turned your head before making you face him. He had a clear view of your face, he frowns at the sight of the tear stains on your face.
His eyes met yours, You could see the visible frown on his face when he saw the tear stains. You quickly pushed his hand away before turning your head to the city view in front of you.
