There was a comforting silence flowing in the air as Alhaitham sliced a Zaytun Peach next to you. You gazed over his hand before shifting toward his figure.

"Shouldn't you be preparing for your flight right now?" You broke the silence.

He halts and looks at you. "Let Ajax handle it."

Your eyes move away from him as you let out a bittersweet giggle. It has only been a day and a half since you woke up, hence you were still in the early stages of recovery and experiencing the after-effects of the anesthesia.

You stare at the couches in front of you. On the coffee table, there was food along with stacked reading materials, and behind them was a large window that gave you a view of the city lights and stars.

"When will you return here for good?"

Alhaitham places the last slice of Zaytun Peaches in a small bowl. "Next month. I can't say the exact date yet due to the fact I still have to ship my belongings before I leave."

"Will you be attending the trial?" You heard him ask.

You nod. "It takes a while before a trial is held, I'm sure I'll be well enough by then."

You shift your gaze toward him again. "Did my Dad tell you something I asked him to tell you?"

Your eyes caught Alhaitham's shoulder tensing. "He did,"

You turned away from him and gulped. "Might as well address it then,"

Your nervousness hid behind the casual sentence you let out. You inhale deeply as you close your eyes. "Back then when we had our last conversation,"

You let out a shuddering breath. "I lied to make you leave. I didn't want to continue exposing you to danger, I didn't want to ruin your future which is why I lied. I'm so sorry for hurting you, I tried to reach you and tell you that I loved you too after I read your letter, but I was too late."
