8.
When Alexandra realized that there were only five minutes left on her break, she bid her goodbye to Sebastian and Aristotle.
The exchange she had with Sebastian had brought some sort of comfort. She didn't expect to see him that day but she was glad she did to get over the awkwardness. She couldn't help but admire his forwardness and honesty. It was like a breath of fresh air to have someone who lays it out on the table. But even if he made his intentions clear - the one about liking her - she is in no way shape or form ready to delve into that territory.
Although, admittedly, she is slowly developing an admiration for his candid honesty. The fact that he could have just easily walk away and move on and forget about her but instead, he sincerely makes an effort to talk to her is something that makes him... Different.
The entire afternoon went by pretty fast. Considering that it was a weekend, a lot of people are coming in to do their grocery shopping. The few hours left on her shift were also spent having conversation with her co-workers. Since most of her co-workers are females, they tend to talk about the hot customers that come to their registers.
When she got out of the office, she went back to her cashier position to do the mandatory sign out. It was then when she realized that two of her co-workers were gossiping about a hot guy.
"Oh my gosh! I think he's waiting for someone." Kayla said.
"Maybe a friend? Hopefully he's single." Leah added.
Alexandra smiled, "Okay, who are you guys mooning over, again?"
"That guy sitting by the deli." Kayla answered."
"Gosh! He's so hot!" Leah commented.
Alexandra turned and look at the guy that her coworkers were talking about. Only to find Sebastian sitting there with his eyes focused on his phone. He looked a lot better than he did when he saw him earlier. He changed from his sweatpants, white shirt, black hoodie, and runners to a pair of jeans with folded ends, black shirt, and a dark blue jacket. His blonde hair were also fixed in style as if he was sporting a boy-next-door look.
She bit her lip and didn't say anything as she got out of her register.
"Bye, Alex!" Leah said in her usual cheery voice.
"Take care, girl!" Kayla added.
"See you tomorrow, ladies! And stay out of trouble!"
As she made her way towards the exit, she found Sebastian already standing there waiting for her.
"Hey!" He greeted with a huge grin on his face.
Alexandra's face turned red. Even without looking back at her co-workers, she knew they were watching them.
"Hi, Sebastian!" She said, smiling. "What are you doing here?"
