The Move

Chapter 27

"Hannah!" I screamed as I ran through the door to my mothers house in Texas. "I have something really important to tell you."

As soon as I got upstairs I could feel it, I wasn't alone.. but I was with somebody I didn't know. This is going to be exactly like the beach.

"Hey, I came here to apologize, My men and I are sorry. You were caught in the crossfire ." The guy from the beach that was beating Calum said.

"Get the fuck out of my house." I clenched my fist, I will not be hurt again today.

"Look, we never tried to hurt you, we saw Calum kissing his ex-girlfriend and we all know he loves her. He put this bad ass shield up when she attempted to kill herself." He stopped when my mouth dropped open. "Oh my god, you didn't know? I'm so sorry.." He quickly stepped forward and caught me right as I fell.

"Why would he? Who is she? What?" I was so confused.

He wrapped me up in his arms, man his arms were softer and warmer than Calum's were.

"It will be okay." He sat down with me on my bed and running his hands over the stitches on my forehead. "I promise."

"You tried to kill me and I still feel more comfortable with you than I do with him.." I said as his hand stroked my cheek, now that I'm actually looking at him, he is pretty fucking cute.

"By the way, my name is Adam and I'm 20." He said slowly as I sat up he looked at me and the look in his eyes that couldn't have lead me on more.

Just as I climbed on top of him, he stopped me and asked me if I really wanted to do this.

"As long as you're not another Calum then I'm good." I passionately leaned into the kiss and his touch was so soft.

"Hold on," Adam got up and took my hand, "Wanna go for a drive, I know this exquisite ice cream place over by my old house. We can get to know each other on the way there."

"Deal, just let me get some money." I looked at him to say something and it was better than expected.

"Allow me to pay for you, I asked you to come and have ice cream with me and plus I owe you." He smiled and it gave me a fuzzy feeling.

"Alright." I smiled and intertwined my hand with his, "Let's go!" I said running with him out of the house.

"Is that your car?!" I screamed jumping around the black 1974 Mercury Marquis Brougham hardtop sedan. "I have always wanted one since I saw Steve McGarrett had one in Hawai'i Five-0"

"Really? You want to drive it?" He said smiling because of probably the crazy look in my eyes when I saw it.

"Wait, seriously?" I couldn't believe he just said that.

"Keep her safe." He tossed me the keys and I unlocked the car.

When we got out of the driveway he started giving me directions and it felt like for once since I moved to Texas I could just relax, nothing was wrong. I felt good and alive.

"Wow, a girl who knows her cars and can drive.. Do you cook too?" He said laughing and admiring me.

"Actually, I'll have you know I can make a mean bowl of Ramen." I said laughing.

"I don't get how you're not dating anybody. You're actually pretty amazing and I wouldn't mind spending everyday with you." He reached for my hand and I couldn't stop smiling that he's actually admitting this to me.

"Nobody else would say that to me.. Nobody has ever said that to me. Even though you tried to kill me your not that bad." I laughed as I squeezed his hand and he kissed me.

"To be fair, I let you drive my car soooo..!" He let go and got out of the car, seeing how we had been sitting in there for over five minutes.

When I got out of the car, after I locked it, I tossed the keys back to him. He caught them with one hand and pulled me into his chest with the other. As he planted a kiss on my forehead he whispered, 'Everything will be okay, so please don't worry.'

When we walked into the shop I ran up to the display and finally found an ice cream flavor that I liked.

"Can I please get two scoops of Bubble Gum in a dish?" I said to the lady behind the counter and she nodded.

"I'll have a triple scoop of Blue Moon in a waffle cone please." Adam said getting out his wallet.

"What a gentlemen." I said grabbing his ice cream from the kind lady whose name I found out was Barb.

When Adam finally got done at the cash register he joined me at a booth I picked out. He grabbed his ice cream and after about 20 minutes of laughing and getting to know each other, I felt as if I had known him my whole life. I leaned in and he got ready to kiss me, instead I took a bite of his cone.

"Well played Kayler." He said taking some ice cream on his finger and putting it on my nose.

"I see how it is Park." Finally finishing our ice cream and walking out of the ice cream shop.

"Listen, I had fun tonight and I like you. That's why I'm going to drop you off and your house and I will pick you up tomorrow morning so you can go to school, alright?" He said opening the door for me.

"If it makes you feel better, I like you too." I held his hand as he drove me home.

"Tori." I woke up to find that I was still in Adams car. "We're at your house." He said smiling.

"What are you so happy about?" I questioned.

"You're beautiful even when you just woke up." He said and I noticed we were still holding hands.

"Goodnight Adam." I said kissing him and getting out of the car.

It was going to be nice that I will be able to sleep in my own bed for once and to pretend that none of this happened. It's my chance to be happy. So I will be happy.
