Just when we were about to make our way to the main exit door, I saw a familiar face by the reception
"Adrianna"
"Rocco?!" I said, surprised when I found him almost by the door. He was in a plain white shirt and a knee-cuts.
"It's been awhile" He leaned for a hug like he used to do a lot of times before. He gave me an extra squeeze on my shoulders before letting go "Condolence by the way Dri. I'm sorry I wasn't there"
"Thank you. It was a rough year for our family" I stared him in the eyes defiantly, thinking that was the simplest way to wrap up that year. Losing my Dad had definitely shifted the family dynamic at home, especially when it comes to inheritance.
I tried shoving the issue at the back of my mind, thinking it is not the best time to be sulking about it.
"Your abuelita gave me a heads up that you'll be around Manila for awhile" He told me, striving for a light tone.
"Did she?" I cocked my head in careful contemplation. "She treats you like her own sometimes"
Rocco shrugged his shoulder and later drifted his attention to the woman beside me. Izobel tilted her head to the side, giving away that alluring smile.
"By the way.. This is Izobel, my cousin" I added "Izzy, this is Rocco. He used to live nearby at Alabang"
I watched how Rocco studied my cousin. Izobel was as tall as I do but more voluptuous physically.
"I didn't know she has been hiding you all along""Can you blame her?" Izzy inquired with an amused grin. "She has to hide the wilder cousin, apparently"
"Wilder prettier cousin, Izzy" I said, smiling
"Oh please." Izobel waved this off "How I wish""Are you guys heading out? It's still too early"
I paused and looked him over.
"Yeah. We're too old for this now"
I saw his eyes sparkling with amusement, chuckling as he said "Aw! Come on! We're not that old yet"
"The younger crowd these days say otherwise." Izobel said, peering to the crowd behind us while chuckling"Come, let me introduce you sa mga kaduty ko sa hospital" Rocco said, pulling me to the direction with him. A group of people sat there and another one waved.
"They're not a boring bunch, promise" He added, winking.
I smiled back but I feel a heated gaze at the back of my head which made me looked up.
My heart somersaulted when I realized Maven pulled up alongside his cousin, Jared, at the balcony's ledge of club's second floor, where they had a good view of the party below, specifically where we were standing.

RomanceMaven and Adrianna were like the sun and the moon. Their paths were meant to cross but not to sync eternally. Both from prominent wealthy families separated by hatred and vendetta, they should've left it at that. But fate has a funny way to let them...
