"Unless you're getting a vasectomy, You wont have your sexy time without condom"

I heard Maven's deep rumble of his voice on the other side of the line as he whined, "Oh come on, baby!"

It has been days since that pregnancy scare happened and now we were back to our routine—him being away for Ilocos while I stay here and counting the days he'll be back, as I juggled Law School with my hands.

Rubbing my palms over my eyes, I bit the inside of my cheek before I sternly said over the phone, "I mean it, Mav. No gloving, no loving"

"Okay, fine." I fought back a smile when a heard a slight bump of frustration over Maven's voice. "So, what are you up to?"

"At school.." I said
"At the library?!" Maven sounded surprised by this as he added, "Ang tahimik ah!"

The lift finally opened and I moved out, hands still on the phone as I stride off from the lift and into the floor where my father's office was, I said before I hung up. "Sort of. I'll talk to you later"

I knew if Maven would find out that I came here alone, he would go ballistic or he would insist that we do it together. I just thought that with this side of problem, I could handle it on my own.

With the thought of courage to face my Dad in mind, I threw on a smile as I approached the desk of the secretary.

"I need to see Armand Sobreviñas" I said
"And you are?" She grumbled, looking at me with that stink eye of hers before she stopped madly typing over the flat screen desktop by her table. Five more seconds passed while the secretary stared at me, her brows rose. I forced a tight smile which only earned a frown.

Drawing in a deep breath, I prayed for more patience as I said, "Seriously?"

"Yes. Listen lady, kailangan po ng appointment. Madami nang—"

"I don't think my sister needs an appointment to see our Dad, Mildred"

I whirled around and found my older brother walking towards the desk with the face he often used in the board room—stern and terrifying.

If I didn't know him better, I would've been convinced my self. I watched how the secretary swallowed, her eyes turning watery when it bounced from Kuya Elliot and back to me.

And then she asked, "Siya po si Adrianna?"

I tried to smile at her, finding it amusing, but she only recoiled some more. "Sorry to disappoint you, Mildred" I said

She shifted awkwardly, somehow, she looked like she can't decided whether to stand now or just sit.

But Kuya Elliot beat her to it and flung his arm to my shoulder as we began to walk, completely ignoring Mildred
