"O M to the G!"
There was a sharp inhale from someone in the vicinity but I wasn't paying much attention to that as I still held Maven's gaze. He hadn't batted an eyelash to any other person but my way.
There was no man that walked on this auditorium that quite looked like Maven. He was on his best per usual—good-looking, perfect skin, corded muscles and broad shoulders wrapped in clothes articulated to assimilate more of his good looks. And he definitely knew he was all those things.
"I don't want to assume but he's looking at our way!", Jasmine kept on saying as Maven began to speak. He handled the crowd so well that I found he was entertaining to watch, if you wouldn't mind noticing some other girls and girls-at-heart drooling over him.
"Supposedly he's also very smart."
Now that caught my interest. Lifting one arched brow, I said "Really?"
"Yes, he was consistent DL all throughout college and now, I've heard he was like the top of his batch or something"During my small talk and interaction with Maven, I knew he was street smart but it surprised me hearing Jasmine right now.
I watched very carefully when Maven was done speaking. His stance appearing casual, Maven took the seat on the front right corner where all the other student council sat. I noticed how he gave a high-five to a man before turning his attention in front.
There was this pageant, aptly called as Mr and Ms OrSem hosted by a man from Student Council. They featured five male and five female candidates that, supposedly, the prettiest and cutest freshmen of the Law School.
And they started calling each names to come over the podium. I was never a pageant enthusiast and I make no secret about it. The other girls were already making their way in front when I found myself yawning, eyes fluttering close.
But I was dragged out of my lalala-land when I felt my phone vibrating against my clutch. I peered down, noticing it was a text from Maven

Maven: Pay attention, you sleepyhead :-P_____________________________________
I blinked once and then twice before I looked up, searching for Maven's eyes but his attention was to the host and whatever he was saying. I found my fingers tapping madly for a reply and was caught off guard when Maven's reply was just as quick.
