From a Leader to a fighter (Lexa x Oc)

Chapter thirteen

It has been two weeks since me and Izzy joined Floukru. Two weeks since all the killing. It has been so peaceful here. Izzy met a new friend, Adria. The little girl was around 7 or 8, and really kind. I've gotten closer to Luna, and she has been helping me a lot. Everything was going great, until one of the scouts came to us with a group of sky kids. 

Me, Luna, and my new friend Derrick are walking to meet them now. Something doesn't feel right. Wherever the sky people go, death and violence always follow. They need to leave as soon as possible. I make sure to tell Luna this. 

As we arrive we hear banging on the walls. Derrick opens the door and Luna walks in first. I walk in a couple minutes later. I see Clarke, Octavia, Bellamy, and Jasper. 

"Lincoln said you would help us." I overhear Clarke say. 

"Did he?" I asked walking from behind her. 

"Rocky." Octavia nodded at me. Clarke looked surprised to see me, but she just continued talking. 

"Luna, you're the last of your kind. The last night blood. Lexa's spirit has chosen you to be the next commander. Titus entrusted me with the Flame, to give to you." Clarke knows better than to mention Isabelle. She knows Izzy is the only one I have left. 

"Titus can go burn in hell." I said upon hearing my love's killer name. 

"Titus killed himself after what happened." Clarke said like that was going to change my mind. 

"I still stand by what I said. I hope he's burning." 

"Titus should've told you that I left my conclave swearing to never kill again." Luna said butting into the conversation. 

"You don't have to kill. To lead is your birthright, how you lead is your choice." Clarke said trying to hand Luna the flame. 

"I recognize the sacred symbol, but what is that?" Luna asked me. 

"It's the flame. It holds the spirits of the commander." I said avoiding eye contact with everyone. I may be acting tough, but my lovers death is still a fresh wound. I am still very close to another mental breakdown from watching my brother get a bullet in his head. 

"Will you take it and become the next commander?" Everyone looked at Luna hopeful. She paused for a minute looking at the flame then at me. I gave her a look that told her it was her choice. Becoming the commander is a big responsibility and I was not about to guilt trip her into say yes.   

"No," She said and walked away. I followed. 

"Hey wait!" I heard Clarke yell as they followed us out. We didn't turn around. I guess they must have been shocked at the scenery because they didn't say anything else.
