He spent his whole night crying himself to sleep, so he woke up with swollen eyes. He ignored his mom this morning and feels bad about it, but she needs to get slapped by reality and accept the truth.
He wasn't in the mood to go to school, but he had to, at least doesn't get to stay at home later.
"Hwang, meet me after school; the driver will drive us to the venue," Seungmin remarked. "I have shift though; maybe just send me the address?" Hyunjin inquired. Seungmin just stared at him, tilted his head, and left without a word.
"Is he good?" Hyunjin brushed off his thoughts when the bell rang.
He was really looking forward to the party because it was said to be overnight. His shift was going to end soon, and he still hadn't gotten a message from Seungmin so He texted the younger, hoping to get a reply soon.
"Have you forgotten to tell me the address?"
"Look outside,"
Seungmin replied. Hyunjin looked through the glass and saw Seungmin's car.
"How long have you been here? You should've just sent me the address. " Hyunjin entered the vehicle. "The place is kind of far, I just thought it would be inconvenient if you didn't have a ride."
Something about what Seungmin said made Hyunjin's heart flutter. He always tend to be nonchalant, cold towards Hyunjin and he never showed that he care, but he does. He just has a different way of acting it. "Thanks, that's thoughtful of you," Hyunjin replied.
The place was stunning. It amazed Hyunjin how being rich could lead you so far.
He spotted Seungmin's mother in the crowd of people and decided to greet "Hyunjin! I'm glad you came!" she exclaimed. "Happy birthday, Mrs. Kim. I apologize for coming here without a gift." He bowed. "No need to apologize; you being here is enough," she told, glad that Hyunjin could come.
There were so many guests that Seungmin almost lost Hyunjin "found you." He pushed through the crowd to see Hyunjin talking to his mother "Seungmin, there you are! Perfect timing! I'll introduce both you and Hyunjin to my friend's son." His mother was again introducing him to everyone.
"This is Felix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee. He brought his friend with him, I'm sure you guys will all get along!" She left the four of them there.
"Hi I'm Felix!" a freckled guy with blonde hair introduced, "and this is my friend Changbin," he said, pointing at the person next to him.
They unexpectedly got along pretty well except Seungmin was silent so Hyunjin did all the talking to prevent awkwardness. They genuinely seem like good people to hang out with.
They separated from Felix and Changbin due to dinner. Hyunjin was overwhelmed by the amount of good food served at the buffet; he was indecisive and didn't know what to eat first. He went back to the table with plates full of food.
"You sure you can finish that?" While Hyunjin had four plates full of food, Seungmin only had a bowl of ramen.
The party is going well; others even went swimming, but Seungmin didn't feel like it until... "Seungmin, the water is not that cold," Hyunjin was swimming with their newly met friends.
"I don't care." Seungmin replied as he was going away from the pool when splashes of water hit him. Now he was wet. Why not just swim at this point?
"You good?" Hyunjin asked to the younger who seemed to be thinking deep thoughts.
He was actually thinking of his father, his father who hasn't called in weeks. He's worried because even though his mother seems fine, he knows deep inside that she misses him just as much as Seungmin does.
"I'll get going now." Seungmin left the pool and went to his assigned room.
Hyunjin left soon after Seungmin. He didn't know his room yet, so he decided to use the bathroom by the pool to shower. He thought he was alone, however, he saw two people making out.
Geez, why do they have to do it in a public bathroom? He couldn't see the face, but the hair looked a bit too familiar... Wait-was that??
"Felix? Changbin?!" Hyunjin was astounded, palm covering his mouth as he looked at the two. They pulled away from each other. "Shit, don't tell anyone," Felix pleaded.
"I won't, but damn, you guys look good together!" Hyunjin claimed. "Really? Thanks, bro," Changbin was pleased, glad that it was Hyunjin who saw them and no one else.
He went into his room, but the lights were already on. The bathroom door opened, and Seungmin came out. "What are you doing here?!" Seungmin's hair was wet with only his lower body was wrapped with a towel. Shit, he looked so... "Hyunjin! Keep those thoughts away!"
"GET OUT??" Seungmin didn't even realize the situation they were in until he saw Hyunjin flustered with cheeks glowing red. He immediately took his clothes and ran to the bathroom to dress up.
He got out, and to his surprise, Hyunjin was still there. "Look, this was the room given to me, and I'm tired, so..." Hyunjin spoke. Oh God, were they going to fight for the room? "I was here first; it's either you go out or sleep on the floor because I'm taking the bed." Seungmin argued.
A knock was heard from the door, interrupting their argument "I guess you guys already found out." Seungmin's mother entered, "What?" Seungmin was in disbelief. "two rooms were unavailable; Felix and Changbin agreed to share rooms. I thought it would be rude if I let the other guest sleep in one room, so I just put you guys together." She took a seat and continued.
"I'm sure you won't mind since you're friends, right? I'll get going, sweetheart. Good night." Then she left.
"You can take the bed," Hyunjin uttered. "I was anyway," Seungmin said as he climbed onto the bed and lay down. Hyunjin, on the other hand, was on the cold, hard floor with only a thin blanket as a cushion.
