"Here are the top three artists chosen by team A who can be potential collaborators." Jeongin handed Seungmin the folder of documents. "It already states their profile and the kind of art they do; you just have to choose, and they will get the artist in contact as soon as possible."
Seungmin opened the document, flipping the paper to see paintings and artists. The first one was a girl who does self-portraits; Seungmin did not like that. He does not want someone's face on his clothing. The second artist paints modern and abstract art, Seungmin would've chosen this but he's not fond of modern art.
Lastly, the third artist on this list is...? "Did they forget to put the profile of the last one? Only the paintings are shown here," Seungmin asked, seeing a blank profile with the name "HJ" What even was that? But he must admit, those floral paintings caught his attention. The details, the color choices, it was perfect!
"That artist is actually anonymous, all we know is that he's based in Korea," Jeongin explains. "That one. I want that artist." Seungmin pointed at the anonymous profile. "Send an email to this HJ painter, those floral paintings would go well with my next collection."
Three days, Seungmin was getting impatient. "Still no response, hyung." This was Jeongin's third time checking. "If they don't reply within the week, then maybe we should look for another one?" Jeongin suggested.
A new one? No, Seungmin did not like that. He wants this painter and no one else. He'll have to collaborate with this one, one way or another. "Didn't you say that this artist would have an art exhibit here?"
"Yes, that will be..." Jeongin checks the calendar, "Tomorrow."
"Buy tickets, I'm sure this painter will be there for their own exhibit. We'll just have to find a way to talk to her."
"Or him," Jeongin corrects, remembering that this painter was then again anonymous.
"Ehm, Mr. Kang," Hyunjin jokes around as he notices the clear difference between his and Taehyun's outfits. The younger was wearing a suit, something decent as he was handling an art exhibit. Hyunjin, on the other hand, was wearing casual clothes as if he wasn't the artist who made all of the paintings in this exhibit.
"Shut up, if only you weren't anonymous," Taehyun complained. Instead of him just being Hyunjin's manager and secretary, he also has to be the spokesperson and everything else while the artist hides in the shadows. "What's the fun in that if everybody knows me?" The painter defended.
"Sir, there is someone outside wanting to speak with the artist." The security guard interrupted. "Doesn't the exhibit start at five p.m.? That's three hours from now," Hyunjin asked, wondering who these people were and why they were so early.
"Did they say who they were?" Minho inquired. "Ah, they mentioned SKM? MKS?" Oh, SMK! "Let them sit inside, tell them I'll be there in a while," Minho ordered. The guard leaves, leaving the two alone once again.
"I guess they really want that collaboration to happen," Hyunjin uttered, impressed by the effort this SMK company is making.
They took a seat as they waited for the artist to arrive. "That was easier than I thought," Jeongin says to Seungmin, who has been eager to meet this painter, only for Seungmin to be disappointed.
"You're not the artist; I asked for the artist," Seungmin complained. Of course, he did his research. He knows that the person in front of him is Kang Taehyun, who apparently is only the spokesperson. "I am aware, however, the artist is not here at the moment." Lies, Seungmin won't believe that; he can't be fooled easily.
"Is that so? How will we be able to talk to him regarding a business proposal?" Jeongin adds, looking at the guy in front of him, who seemed as if he didn't want them there. "The only way to communicate with the artist is through me," Taehyun replies, which Seungmin did not like.
"I'm assuming you've seen the email that is why you let us in. I'm the CEO of SMK, and I'd like to speak to the artist." Seungmin said firmly, not giving up. "Again, the only way to communicate with the artist is through me." Taehyun repeated, "But I'll talk to the artist regarding this and see if he will be willing to meet with you in person.
"He said 'he', so HJ must be a guy?" Jeongin thought.
"He was apparently the CEO, but gosh, he was stubborn as fuck," Taehyun complains to Hyunjin, who was peacefully drinking a cup of iced coffee. Hearing a slurp with every sip he takes, Taehyun takes the cup away from the olders hand, yet Hyunjin has a strong grip. "It's finished, throw it away." Taehyun says to Hyunjin, who wasn't listening.
"I'll do it," Hyunjin uttered out of nowhere, finally throwing away the empty cup of coffee. "You'll do what...?" After all that Taehyun said earlier, this was the only reply he got from Hyunjin. "I'll meet with this stubborn CEO you keep ranting about," Hyunjin clarifies.
Taehyun didn't know what was with Hyunjin today, but he never thought that Hyunjin would agree to the meeting. He'd usually send Taehyun over to do things like this, but he actually agreed this time! It was shocking news for him. What made Hyunjin decide that he finally wanted to disclose himself?
"Okay, I'll get it scheduled as soon as possible."
