THE DOCTOR WALKED into the console room of the t.a.r.d.i.s., carrying some cds in his hands, flipping through them. he looked up from the cds and at callisto, who was sat down on the seat, a book in her hand, her eyes drifting over the pages.

"hey, i found some things i think you'll like." the doctor smiled as wake up alone by amy winehouse began to play loudly. "oh, brilliant! look, i found some of the best albums out, ones you didn't find. i dunno how, they're incredible. more bowie, hunky dory. elton john 'cause you love honky château, it's goodbye yellow brick road. ooh! electric light orchestra, one of the most underrated bands from the '70s. i found out some of the beatles albums, i know you like sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band, although i do think that the white album is a little bit better. i mean, it's got blackbird on it, it's a obviously the best, so i'm glad i found it. a hard day's night is good, too. and i love her, god, what a great song!"

all while the doctor continued to ramble and shuffle through the music selection he had found her, callisto didn't look up at him, eyes locked on her book. in truth, she wasn't even reading it. she was tired. incredibley tired. it had been too long since she'd slept last.

"—rumours by fleetwood mac is easily one of the best albums of all time. wait, ignore me, you've listened to that." the doctor mumbled as he sat down beside her. she didn't make any noise of acknowledgment. "must be a good book."

"mhm." callisto hummed despite not hearing him properly.

he quickly caught that after realising she was still on the same page even though her eyes had covered it fully at least twice. he took the book from her fingers and she finally looked at him, "what's up?"

"nothing, i'm fine. boring page, is all." she lied, failing miserably to stifle a yawn.

"you're tired, is that it? go and get some sleep." the doctor smiled.

"can't." callisto shook her head, yawning again.

"why not? can't you find your bedroom? i've had that problem, i went down 5 different hallways before i found mine once." the doctor hummed.

"no, it's not that. i just don't want to." callisto shrugged.

"why not? you're tired." the doctor mused and she didn't say anything. "nightmares?"

"just a few. every time i sleep... since i left my planet." callisto admitted, leaning back in the seat.

"wanna talk about it?" the doctor offered, giving her his full attention.

callisto contemplated it for a moment, a silent battle happening inside her head on whether to tell the doctor what she'd dreamt of previously. she trusted him more than anyone or anything she'd ever trusted. but she didn't want him to think differently of her. however, she remembered his words just after sarah jane had left to start a new life.
