the t.a.r.d.i.s gave her familiar wheezing groan as the doctor landed her back on earth. rose wanted to visit jackie and give her a present she'd got from another planet on their journeys. rose stepped out, throwing her large rucksack over her shoulders as the doctor and callisto followed her out, looking around at the park they'd landed in.
rose grinned at her friends, jumping over a tree stump in the park giddily, excited to be home. they walked to jackie's flat and rose immediately pushed the door open, calling through, "mum! it's us, we're back!"
jackie came rushing towards them from the kitchen, glad to see her daughter, although worried from the lack of communication, "oh, i don't know why you bother with that phone! ya never use it!"
"mum, c'mere." rose beamed and her mum exclaimed happily, the pair hugging tightly.
"oh, i love you!"
"i love you, too!"
the doctor and callisto both tried to sneak off through the hallway but jackie grabbed them, "oh, no you don't. c'mere!" jackie pressed a firm kiss to the doctors cheek, making rose laugh as she walked past them. jackie yanked the doctor into a hug, "oh, you lovely big fella! oh, you're all mine! yes, you are!"
she pulled back and kissed the doctor properly on the lips making callisto's jaw drop. jackie turned to the zen-whobian and hugged her tightly, callisto returning it with limp, shocked arms as she watched the doctor wipe at his mouth with the back of his hand. jackie mumbled giddy greetings at callisto before skipping back off to her daughter, who was pulling her bag off.
"i've got loads of washing for ya!" rose grinned, dumping the bag into jackie's arms. "and, we got ya this." it was a small, golden object. "it's from the market on this astroid bazar. it's made of... um... what's it called?"
"bazoolium." the doctor answered, he and callisto's handing a few meters behind rose, letting her catch up with her mum.
"bazoolium." rose repeated. "when it gets cold, yeah, i means it's gonna rain. when it's hot, it's gonna be sunny!" jackie made no sign of gratitude or happiness so rose continued. "you can use it to tell the weather!"
