WITH THE MUTATED lazarus roaring and starting to chase after them, the doctor, callisto, martha and tish all ran back to the stairs. behind him, the doctor closed the door to the roof, being the last one inside, and locked it with his sonic screwdriver. he rushed down the stairs as martha slapped her hand to the button for the lift. lazarus could be heard slamming into the door.
"are you okay?" martha asked her sister worriedly.
tish stared into space in horror, "i was gonna snog him."
lazarus roared and grunted as he slammed himself into the door over and over. the building rocked because of the forcefulness and the lights flickered on and off a few times due to the shaking. a pair of doors slid closed a few feet away.
"security one. security one." a computer said over the loudspeaker.
"what's happening?" martha questioned.
"um, intrusion. it... triggers a security lockdown. kills most of the power, stops the lifts, seals the exits." tish explained.
lazarus bashed against the door once more and the doctor looked behind him at the sound, "he must be breaking through that door." another slam sounded and it was about to break. "the stairs, come on!"
following the doctor's order, they rushed down the stairs. however, martha paused when they heard another loud bang to shout, "he's inside!"
"well, don't stop then!" callisto called back, still running downstairs with tish and the doctor.
they found their way back into the reception of the event where everyone was looking around in confusion and grimacing at the loud sirens that had started to blare. they didn't look fearful, just irritated by the fact it had spoiled their time.
"tish, is there another way out of here?" the doctor demanded.
"there's an exit in the corner, but it'll be locked now." tish replied.
the doctor threw his sonic screwdriver to martha, "martha, setting 54, hurry!"
callisto stepped up in front of lazarus' machine to give herself a platform and called for everyone to listen to her, "everyone is in serious danger! you need to leave right now, out of that door!"
"don't be ridiculous." a blonde woman spoke up. "the biggest danger here is choking on an olive!"
a crash of glass came from the far corner of the room by the stairs and everyone saw the ugly mutated creature that lazarus had turned himself into. he roared, standing on his hind legs, four other limbs raised in the air, pincher sharp and ready. lazarus bounced down from the stairs and people started to scream.
lazarus kicked tables out of the way, knocked glasses over that shattered. the guests fled to the doors where martha was figuring out how to use the screwdriver, slapping their hands on the glass as if that would provide a great help. a table was launched across the room and francine yelled for leo, who'd been hit and knocked down by the large table.
