THE ABOMINATION IN of them pointed towards the group, "these humans will become like me. prepare them for hybridisation."

numerous pig-men stomped towards the group and grabbed at the humans and callisto, who obviously refused to be dragged away to have their heads contorted into one-eyed octopuses. martha shrieked for them to let go of her, but then studded music could be heard from far away in the room. the doctor had evidently slinked away from the group.

"what is that sound?" dalek sec demanded.

"ah, well, now," the doctor started, revealing himself from behind some tall technology, "that would be me. hello! surprise! boo! et cetera."

"doctor!" dalek sec gasped.

"the enemy of the daleks!" one of the three remaining complete daleks whirred.

"exterminate!"

"wait!" dalek sec interrupted.

dalek sec said no more and the doctor stepped towards the hybrid, "well, then, a new breed of a dalek, fascinating. and very clever."

"the cult of skaro escaped your slaughter." dalek sec replied in his odd, choppy manner.

"how did you end up in 1930?" the doctor inquired, hands stuffed in his trench coat pockets as he examined the new creation.

"emergency temporal shift." dalek sec answered.

the doctor chuckled, "oh, that must've roasted up your power cells, yeah? time was, four daleks coulda conquered the world. but instead you're skulking away, hidden in the dark, experimenting. all of which results in you."

"i am dalek in human form!" dalek sec exclaimed.

"what does it feel like?" the doctor asked, his voice giving away that he knew something the daleks hadn't considered when they decided to mix species. "you can talk to me, dalek sec. it is dalek sec, isn't it? that's your name. you've got a name and a mind of your own. tell me what you're thinking right now."

"i... feel... humanity." dalek sec said, turning away from the doctor thoughtfully.

"good. that's good." the doctor praised.

"i... feel... everything we wanted for mankind, which is ambition, hatred, aggression and war. such a genius for war!" dalek sec beamed, turning back to face the doctor proudly.

"no, that's not what humanity means." the doctor denied.

"i think it does. at heart, this species is so very dalek." dalek sec breathed.

"alright, so what've you achieved then, with this final experiment then? hey? nothing! 'cause i can show you what you're missing with this thing. simple little radio." the doctor patted the small device.
