Chapter 4: Training and Mission

Master Valerie arrived with some grimoires . "It's time to talk about magic 
once more, and there's an early finals test 
at the end, so pay attention.

"Magic are divided into three
categories of understanding. How do you gather mana, how do you perform magic, and what kind of magic are there ?"

Magic is simply the manipulation of mana energy. The energy that flows through the divine tree and covers the entire planet. Mana is present in everything. Mages gain more mana as they mature, reaching a peak at the age of 20. While mana can cross those threshold within a person's body. It will take more practice, as well as mental and physical development.

Witches naturally have more mana than warlocks. A balance to a warlock's strength.

Mana can be gathered from within the body. The majority of mages do this, but there are other ways to gather mana. Sorcery refers to receiving mana from other sources such as stones, weapons, objects, or even the environment around them. Mages who excel in sorcery are called Sorcerers Divination is a more advanced form of this technique in which a mage seeks the source from a divine. These rare mages are commonly referred to as Saints.

The final method of gaining mana is conversion magic, which we will practice today. One of the most difficult. When multiple mages amplify and share their mana, this is known as conversion.

The group was split up into their original teams. Each surrounding themselves around a ritual circle with gem rings in the center. Master Valerie explains that they will perform a conversion spell by standing in a circle holding hands.They will send a part of it within the rings as they converge their magic. Team early birds live up to their name, flawlessly performing the spell. When they put it on, the rings glow bright red. They felt as if they were being dragged towards each other with a very light tug.

Master Valerie extends her congratulations. "The further apart they are, the lower the color in the rainbow spectrum the ring glows."

Team tortoise failed on their first attempt. Flora was unable to control her mana flow as Apollon unleashed massive waves of mana. Together, we're causing a chaotic imbalance that the rest of the team can't handle.

Master Valerie encourages them to persevere. "Conversion magic is not as common as the first group. It takes some time. This time Apollon try to release as little mana as you think you need, and Flora, try to restrain the flow a little to gain control as you emit more mana."

They try again and gradually share the flow of Mana between themselves. As time passes, Apollon's mana levels rise, causing Flora to lose control of the flow, resulting in a burst of mana that pushes them all back.

Lux sighs in sorrow. " This is going to be a long painful day."

Team early bird split up. Twilight and Khione sneak around looking for information about the Constellation gangs or the Zodiac terrorists. While Helio and Nile distract Kitsune and some soldiers over a meal.

Twilight went upstairs to the round table room to look for files or anything related to them, while Khione remained downstairs to keep an eye on things. Khione couldn't open the bottom door because it was locked. A magical seal creates an additional barrier.

Twilight went through the contents of the box shelves as much as she could. She discovered that one of the shelves could be turned. A library map was hidden behind it. Which appears to indicate the location of specific objects. Even a spare key to the downstairs door. " K12"

Twilight heard a melody from Khione. Her queue to rush down stairs. She put everything in order in time to rush down stairs.  They both were caught by Ragnar Nemain, the knight that wields, the blood thirsty sword, Tyrfing. He had one arm and crazy looking eyes and smile. " And what are you witches doing here?" His voice was frighteningly deep.

Twilight blurted out that they had gotten lost while looking for the restroom. Ragnar looked at them suspiciously, but decides to lead them there.

As they are doing that. Team Tortoise attempted the spell for the fifteenth time. Apollon became increasingly irritated. Lux and Fauna were exhausted. Lycaon appeared to be on the verge of passing out from exerting out so much mana.

Flora was tired from standing, and Apollon's face is visibly angry with his hands balled up.

"Let us take a short break. I believe that a good rest would be beneficial to all of us."says Lux.

Apollon was adamantly opposed."I'm confident we'll succeed this time. We've got this under control."

Lux argues that everyone is exhausted physically, mentally, and magically. That they will continue to fail. Apollon begs for another chance. Lux sighs, he sees Apollon wanting to prove something, but hopes it's for the benefit of the group rather than himself. "Just one more time. Flora, please give Lycaon some mana before we begin again."

Flora took her time, and then they resumed the spell. Lux gives everyone some guidance."Flora, instead of feeling the need to control your magic, try to guide it. This may help to slow the flow. Fauna, you're doing great. Don't try to overwork yourself, Lycaon. We're attempting to determine your wave length because you have the lowest. If you invest more than you have. Our conversion will deteriorate. Apollon focuses on Lycaon's energy flow and tries to match it as much as possible, similar to focusing your eyes in one spot. Then hold on to that. Let us hope that this works."

They give it another shot. Lycaon set the standard, and everyone met him there to share their mana. Flora let her magic flow while Apollon focused on holding the mana that was flowing through him. Lux was overjoyed. "All right, now send it to the rings." They all send a massive stream of Mana towards the rings, which glow brightly. Everyone collapsed on the floor, exhausted. Master Valerie proudly applauded their achievement. "I had no idea Lux could lead a group of kids in anything."

Everyone on the tortoise team took a ring that glowed a bright red color. Apollon smiled triumphantly. He went to assist Lycaon in getting up and walking with him. The identical twins did the same for each other. They rush in to eat and get some rest.
