part II: types of magic

Master Valerie goes over mana and how it is harnessed and used. This brings her to the subject of magic.

Then there's the fun part, different types of magic. Magic was used before there was any understanding of how it was done. As more questions and research into magic occur. The position of wizard became available. Mages who desired to comprehend magic at its pinnacle. Mages like me.

I'll spare you the lengthy history lesson. The majority of our magical abilities are genetically passed down from the deities. We only know what remains of them.

To be understood, magic must first be divided into layers. Primordial magic is the purest form of magic. Which is the name for the most powerful and progenitor of all magic variants creation and destruction magic

Then there's celestial magic. Magic encompassing Time, Matter, and Space. Magic that consumes large amounts of mana. Most mages who have an affinity for Celestial magic or, in rare cases, Primordial magic. Usually do not have enough mana to perform their natural magic in rapid succession. It makes no difference because the spells are usually extremely powerful. Consider our illustrious Leader Ueman, A descendant of the Chronos clan, has a natural affinity for time magic.

Then there is divine magic that consists of  star, dark, life, and death magic. These forms of magic if wielded correctly can be as potent as celestial magic. Apollon and Lux light magic is a derivative of star magic and Flora plant magic is derivative of life magic.  I didn't forget about you, twightlight. The witch with the potential of performing dark magic. You are mysterious of all of them. I'll be glad to see what you can do.

Elemental magic is the final type of magic. The manipulation of the Elements and their derivatives. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning are the major five.  Everything else is a subset of those 5. Helios fire magic, on the other hand, is strangely a black, as if twisted with dark magic. I'll be keeping my curious eyes on you as well.

Nile, my prodigy, your ability to perform all five makes you the most well-versed in the group, and Khione's water magic and the derivative ice style intrigues me the most. haven't seen an ice user in a long time. Finally, Lycaon, you are an average warlock but have an intelligent use of lightning magic.

Now, each of you will demonstrate your most powerful spell one by one. Then I'll see if anything has changed. My prodigy, you go first. Nile creates five energy balls of each element, and quickly destroys five trees in succession.

Flora was the next. "Plant style - Nature's claim," she said as she waved her wand. In place of the five destroyed trees, ten large trees grew in it's place. She has done twice as much of what she wanted, but she was relieved to know she had much more control over a spell of that magnitude.

Master Valerie compliments her wand, but criticizes her to better her control. 

Then came Fauna. She lights up a tattoo on her shoulder and multiplies herself by 5. Everyone was astounded she uses master Alexander's spell.

She transformed her box into a bow and arrow. Her clones and she both channel mana into their arrows then launch them. Their arrows destroyed the trees with a massive boom sound. The clones merge back into her as she felt a bit fatigued.

Master Valerie gives her a standing ovation. "Next time, only one spell will suffice. There is no need to use multiple techniques. Excellent job."

Helio rush to go next." I was going to save the best for last but after that performance. Might as well do mine. Fire cast: raging twin black dragon."

two large black flames in shapes of angry long dragons. Burst down on the rest of the of the trees. Burning them all to waste in the dark flames. Kitsune rushes to catch Helio before he falls from almost overexerting his mana pool. Apollon was trying to get a hold of himself as flames still trigger his flash backs. Khione shell earrings and Flora's amethyst necklace still helps him soothe.

Master Valerie advises him to keep that spell's mana under control, or it will drain him of more mana than needed.

Apollon decided to step up. " Light magic - victory."  The flames still appear in his mind, but he still keep his composure. Fear and rage  run through him sending a surge of compacted mana towards his fist. Creating this compressed ball of heat and  light covering his fist. Everyone looked away as it got bigger and brighter.  He flicker out of sight and pulverized a burn tree. Creating a large blast of light dwarfing the attack of Helios. A shock wave was felt and a large gust of wind almost blew them off their feet. Dust clutter the very air. When the dust begins to settle with the help of Nile's wind spells. Flora put down the barriers.  Lycaon already catch Apollon before he drops.

Master Valerie was stunned. "You are an extraordinary warlock. You pass out from mana shock, but still have plenty of mana reserved."

Apollon shakes as he hugs Lycaon tightly. Flora proceeds to harmonize his mana network with the amethyst necklace. To quickly restore normalcy.

Master Valerie tells her there was no need as he would heal back naturally. Flora counters that it's better to get him back sooner rather than later. To prevent any complications.

Apollon slowly begins to stand up and have a competitively smirks at Helios. Helio gave back an aggressive look.

Lycaon was next. Master lux grabbed Apollon and watched from the side. Lycaon took out his dagger. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. " Lightning cast- tazer"

A large bolt of lightning pierces the dagger. It was almost as if concentrated bolts of lightning were coating it. He throws them so fast that you could miss them in the blink of an eye. With a booming popping sound, it demolishes the wood of what's left of the trees. Splintered wood was flying everywhere. Flora erecting a barrier and Nile sending a gust of wind to deflect the splintered wood.

Master Victoria applaud them on their battle instinct. She compliments on his choice of spell. A spell that can be used multiple ways and lethality. Something that every mage, especially warlock, need to understand when performing spells.

Khione was last. " Ice style: impaling icicle." She created large icicles in the air and had them rain down. Impaling the ground with great force.

Master Victoria was excited to her perform ice magic. " That was beautiful. I have nothing to criticize. I think it's now time to hone our skills."
