A Lukanette Love Story

Chapter 4

       Sabine and Marinette watch as Luka puts his guitar back into his bike basket and puts his helmet on. He pulls the kick stand back up and mounts his bike, with a smile and a wave at the two ladies he bikes away. "He is such a nice young man," Says Sabine to her daughter, "Whatever happened between the two of you?"

       Marinette turns to her mom and walks with her into the bakery trying to decide how to answer, she might as well keep sticking as close to the truth as possible. "We just didn't have enough time to be with each other, between school, making clothes and doing stuff for Kitty Section I just couldn't give him enough of my time. He doesn't deserve an absentee girlfriend." Her mom nods her head in understanding, she could tell there was more to it then that but didn't want to push her daughter and make her close off.

       They ate dinner together as a family and Marinette snuck some food in her purse for Tikki. She was pretty tired from crying earlier and excused herself after dinner to her room. Once she got up there, she realized that it was time to do patrol with Chat Noir. "Ready to do patrol Tikki?" She asked, "Mhm" replied Tikki.

       "Tikki, spots on!" She calls out, she transforms and goes to her roof balcony and sling shots away with her yoyo. She meets up with Chat Noir on a nearby roof, "Good evening M'lady." He says, leaning on his night stick, smiling at her. "Good evening Kitty," she replies unable to help herself from smiling back. "And how have you been today?" He asks. She sighs not sure how much to reveal about herself, "I'm okay, hung out with a friend, listened to some music, it was nice." It wasn't that far from the truth.

       "Anyone I know?" Chat asks, trying to fish for information about her personal life, Ladybug shakes her head at him knowing exactly what he's trying to do. "Now, now Kitty, you know we can't say much about our personal lives." She says to him. He sighs disappointedly, "I know, but a cat can hope." She scratches under his chin perking him up, "Chin up Kitty, maybe one day, but today isn't that day." He gives her a weak smile. "Come on, let's patrol Paris."

       They make their way around, the night is unusually quiet. Ladybug realizes that she never asked Chat Noir how his day was. They came to rest on a roof halfway through their patrol, "So Chat, how was your day?" She asks him. He sighs, "Not very exciting, homework mostly and some laundry." Ladybug couldn't help snickering at the thought of Chat Noir doing laundry, she just couldn't imagine him doing something so domestic.

       "What's so funny?" he asks. Ladybug shakes her head, "I just can't imagine it Chat, you doing laundry." He chuckles with her, "It's not all cat suits and leather if that's what you're thinking." He says with a laugh. They both just can't help cracking up at the thought. They are finally able to compose themselves and finish their patrol.

       "See you tomorrow night M'lady," Says Chat Noir, "Not unless there is an akuma attack before then Kitty cat." Replies Ladybug, "Fingers crossed that Monarch gave up," replies Chat. Ladybug sighs, "Goodnight Kitty, Bug out!" She says and slingshots away.
