It was Saturday and Marinette slept in for the first time in weeks. It was noon before she decided to roll out of bed. She checks her phone and sees a text from Luka:
Luka: Hey Marinette, I hope you are enjoying your day of rest, I was wondering if you would like to come over and hang out later. Let me know. :)
Marinette was flattered to see the offer but decided to take her time, she knew that Luka would be okay with her responding later.
She went downstairs and said hello to her parents, ate some lunch and then went back to her room. She heard sounds of crashing and shouting, she sighed, evil never seems take a day off. She transforms and meets up with Chat Noir a little ways away and they take down the villain together.
Marinette decides that instead of going back home she is going to go see Luka, she sends a quick text to her parents to let them know that she is safe and is going to hang out with Luka and Juleka. She slingshots her way to where Luka's family's houseboat is docked and finds a safe place to de-transform. She texts Luka to tell him that she's out in front of his houseboat.
Marinette: Hey Luka, surprise, I'm here in front of your houseboat. :P
Luka: Oh! Okay! Come aboard!
Marinette climbs aboard and sees Luka pop his head out from below deck, he spots Marinette and smiles at her. He makes his way onto the deck and over to her, "Hey, how are you?" He asks her. "I'm alright, just glad to have a chill day, sort of, still had to fight off an akuma attack, but other than that it's been good." Says Marinette, then she looks around and furrows her brows, "Where's Juleka and your mom?" she asks.
"Juleka's over at Rose's house and my mom is reconnecting with my dad." Says Luka, "Reconnecting? Are they finally getting along?" Marinette wonders in surprise.
"Yeah, they are trying to work out shared custody and money stuff, it might take a while." He says with a slight chuckle. Marinette nods her head in understanding, "So..it's..just the two of us...here... alone?" She stutters, blushing and suddenly feeling nervous. Luka shrugs, it's not like they haven't been alone together before, but he knows that something has changed between them now that he knows her Ladybug secret.
"I made a new song, want to hear?" Luka asks, Marinette nods her head yes and Luka gently grabs her hand and leads her below deck to his room where he keeps his guitar. He shuts the door after them and Marinette jumps nervously. Luka grabs his guitar and sits on his bed, Marinette sits next to him and he starts strumming his guitar.
Marinette shifts uncomfortably as she listens to the music, not because the song is bad, it's really good, but her feelings for Luka are bugging her and it's making her edgy. Things have changed between them, and now that Luka knows her secret, she feels like she can trust him with anything.... maybe even her heart again.
Luka finishes playing the song and Marinette claps her hands enthusiastically like she is a fangirl, "That was really great Luka!" She says, trying to keep her nerves at bay.
She has always liked Luka; he makes her feel comfortable and like she can be herself around him. She wonders how that might apply with her deeper feelings though, being bold about how she feels, is not something she's good at as Marinette. Now when she is Ladybug, she can confidently express herself, but she hasn't figured out how to transfer her superhero confidence to her civilian self.
Luka watches Marinette, he hears her breathing speed up, sees a slight tinge of pink on her cheeks and sees conflicting emotions on her face. He puts his guitar down on the floor and grabs her hand gently. "Hey, are you okay? You look like something is bothering you, you know you can still talk to me about anything, right?" he says her.
That caused her cheeks to blush more, but she takes a deep breath and says:
"Luka, I still having feelings for you."
