A Lukanette Love Story

Chapter 20

       They all ate dinner together and it was nice, besides that awkward moment in Luka's room, Anarka treated Marinette like she was a part of the family, it was nice and fun. Marinette made sure that Tikki got some food too. After dinner, Anarka invited Marinette to play some card games with them and Marinette accepted, it was a lot of fun. Juleka was fun to play with, she was surprisingly competitive for someone who seems so shy, Marinette enjoyed getting to know her better.

       Luka was happy that his mom was willing to accept him and Marinette being something. After a few card games, it was starting to get late and Marinette's parents texted her to see if she was coming home soon, Luka offered to take her home and they rode together on his bike.

       Luka pulls up to the bakery and Marinette gets off the bicycle, she gives him a hug and they stay like that for a while, just hugging.

       Luka kisses Marinette's cheek before she pulls away, "Goodnight Marinette, I had a nice time with you today, I hope that we can do it again sometime." Marinette blushes, "Yeah, I'd like that." She says and walks to the bakery door, she looks back at him, "Goodnight Luka." She says.

He smiles and nods his head.

       As she turns away, he whispers, "Goodnight, my Melody." And smiles slightly to himself, he then bikes away once Marinette gets inside.

       Marinette walks through the bakery and to the main part of her home. She sees her parents and says hello. They asked her about her hangout with Luka and his family and she decides to tell them the truth, she knew that if she didn't, Anarka would probably tell them the next time she came in to buy stuff from the bakery. Got to love small town folk.

       Her parents were glad that she had a nice time, a little concerned about Luka and Marinette being in a bed together, even if it was just to sleep. But they are happy that Marinette seems to be happy, they have been worrying about her lately. They know that Luka is a good guy, they just want to make sure that Marinette is being safe, they have had "The Talk" with her, but maybe they should get her on some protection, just as a precaution.

       But they don't want to worry about such things right now, Marinette is happy and things are still pretty normal, so they are going to focus on that.

       Marinette finishes chatting with her parents and excuses herself to her room, once inside she sits in her desk chair and sighs. Tikki flies out of her purse and sits on Marinette's shoulder. Tikki suddenly realizes what time it is, "Marinette, I know that you just got home, but it's time to patrol with Chat Noir." Marinette looks at the clock, "You're right Tikki, let's go, Spots on!" She calls out and transforms, she goes to her rooftop balcony and makes sure that no one is around to see her slingshot away.

       She meets up with Chat Noir a couple of roofs away, "Good evening, M'Lady." He purrs out, "Good evening Kitty cat," Ladybug replies.

       "How are you doing this fine evening?" Chat Noir asks, "I'm good and you?" replies Ladybug. "Doing good, I have been working on the chart that you gave me and I have some questions and thoughts, when can we talk about it?" asks Chat, Ladybug sighs, she was wanting to hold onto being carefree for a little longer but knows that she can't forsake her duties. "How about tomorrow night Kitty cat, we can sit down with the charts and talk about it, Master Fu... I mean Mister Fu, still hasn't sold his place yet and he isn't living there currently, so we can meet there to talk. Do an early patrol and then go?" Asks Ladybug.

       "Fine by me, any time I get to spend with you, is time well spent Bugaboo." Chat Noir flirts, even though his feelings have changed, flirting is still a knee jerk reaction for him. Ladybug giggles and shakes her head, "Oh Kitty cat, tsk tsk." Ladybug says playfully, "Come on, let's patrol."

       They do their usual circuit around Paris and come to rest on a roof, they discuss what time to meet up the next day and then say goodbye. "Goodnight M'Lady." Says Chat Noir, "Goodnight Kitty cat. Bug out!" Says Ladybug and she slingshots away.

       Ladybug gets back to her rooftop balcony and makes sure no one is around, "Tikki spots off!" Says Marinette as she de-transforms into her regular self, she feeds Tikki a cookie and makes her way back down into her room.

She checks her phone messages and sees a message from Luka:

Luka: I had a nice time with you today. I can't stop thinking about you. The warmth of your sleeping form next to mine, it brought me more peace and comfort than I thought possible. I dream of the next moment I get to see you again, my Melody.

       Marinette blushes red as she reads the message and wonders if she should respond. She likes the nickname he came up with for her, his Melody, he does tend to say that he can hear the melody of her heart.

She decides to respond to his message:

Marinette: I had a nice time with you today too. I look forward to when we can next meet up as well, I would say tomorrow but I have some stuff that I have to do. Maybe this week sometime?

       Marinette pauses before she hits send, maybe she should flirt back with him just a bit. She adds to the message:

Marinette: I enjoyed sleeping next to you as well, your warmth and presence made me feel safe and cared about. Also, I like my new nickname. :)

       Okay so it wasn't really flirting, but she tried her best and she knows that he'll at least smile at her kind words. She sends the message and waits to see if he responds. She decides to change into her pajamas while she anxiously awaits.

       "Calm down Marinette, he'll respond when he can, he might be asleep." Tikki says as she watches her holder start to pace anxiously. Marinette takes a deep breath trying to calm down, her phone dings a few minutes later. It was Luka.

Luka: I'm glad that you like your new nickname, I'll be sure to use it then ;) And yes, this week works, just let me know when you are available. It's getting late and I am tired, so I will say goodnight. Goodnight my Melody, until tomorrow.

Marinette: Goodnight Luka, sleep well.

Luka: You too

       Marinette blushes and then crawls into bed feeling happy, Tikki flies up and lands on her pillow, they say goodnight to each other and fall asleep.
