A Lukanette Love Story

Chapter 13

       Marinette decides to tell Luka everything, the getting of her miraculous by Master Fu, later becoming the Guardian of the Miraculous's, she explained where she disappeared too when her and Luka tried a relationship the first time. Then she explained that day in front of the park where she cried in his arms, then she told him about finally breaking down enough to tell Alya. 

       Then she finished with, that she couldn't lie to the one person who could hear her heart so clearly and was able to tell when something was very wrong....him, Luka. She knew that he approached her about knowing her identity, but she explained that she thinks eventually she would have broken down and told him. He has always been generous and kind with forgiveness towards her and understanding about her feelings for Adrien.

       After she finished explaining everything, even the most recent tragedy of losing all the Miraculous's to Monarch, she slumped against Luka feeling tremendous relief.

       Luka was quiet, digesting and thinking about everything she had told him. All he could think was, no wonder she was practically losing her mind, that is a lot for one person to deal with. He knows that she has Chat Noir, but Chat Noir doesn't have the same burdens or pressure that she does. Luka also learned that them sharing their identities was dangerous because Chat Noir got akumatized in an alternate timeline, Marinette still isn't sure how he learned her name in that alternate timeline, but it just led her to believe that their identities had to remain their biggest secret from each other.

       Luka wondered if Adrien Agreste had anyone he could talk to, having to keep his secret of being Chat Noir had to be tough, especially with a father who is distant yet fiercely protective of him. But at the same time wondered if maybe keeping his secret wasn't too bad, because he didn't have the same pressures as Marinette. Luka wasn't the meddling sort, but maybe he could check in on Adrien a little more, so the guy didn't feel like he was completely alone.

       Marinette patiently waited as Luka thought and processed all the information that she had given him. She knew it was a lot and hoped that he wasn't going to freak out. He gently looked down at her and smiled, "You are such a strong person Marinette Dupain-Cheng and I am in awe of how you still go out there every day and try to protect Paris while trying to maintain a normal life. I am not surprised that the recent events have taken such a toll on you, you may be a superhero, but you are still human first. Any normal person would have had a mental breakdown, but you, you are still trying to function and it amazes me."

       Marinette looked at him with surprise on her face, she was not expecting him to say something like that, freak out maybe, but not compliment her and see her strengths through her pain. She was truly thankful that he was her friend.

       She suddenly throws her arms around him and gives him a hug; it catches him by surprise, but he responds immediately and holds her tight.
