Chapter 19

       Anarka stops in her tracks taking in the room, she was coming in to tell Juleka and Luka that dinner was ready, she wasn't expecting to see Marinette laying in bed with Luka and Juleka there hovering with her phone out. "Er... Do I even want to know what is going on?" She asks in her pirate accent. Marinette starts blushing furiously and Luka looks a bit embarrassed but otherwise relaxed. Juleka lowers her phone and looks down in embarrassment. Much to Anarka's relief everyone is still dressed in their clothes but the way it looked walking in, shocked her. It almost looked like an inappropriate movie was about to be filmed.

       Luka decides to break the awkward silence, "Nothing happened mom, I was playing some music for Marinette and when I was done playing, we were talking and she admitted that she still liked me and I admitted that I still liked her. She was happy to hear that and when she went to hug me, it caused us to fall back onto the bed. I asked her to cuddle with me and we accidentally fell asleep. Then we were awoken by Juleka coming into the room and taking pictures of us for our friends." He says to her and looks at her with sincerity.

       Anarka was relieved to hear that, she knows that Luka would never lie to her. She was also relieved that Marinette admitted to still liking Luka, it hurt Anarka's heart when she saw that her son was still pining after Marinette even after they broke up. Marinette is a nice girl, so Anarka is glad that they worked things out. Now she wonders what the next level is for them and if she should be concerned. She doesn't believe in sex before marriage, but it's the 21st century, not many people wait anymore. And she has had "the talk" with her kids, but she wants to be a good mom and not take risks because, as we all know, teenagers don't always like listening to their parents. Not that she has ever had any problems with her kids, but she wants to be a responsible parent.

       She thinks maybe she should buy them protection, just as a precaution, she'd rather be the cool mom where her kids don't feel like they have to sneak around. She wants them to be comfortable talking to her about things.

       She realizes that she has been quiet for a little while. "I am relieved to hear that, did you two have a good nap?" Anarka asks in her pirate accent. Luka and Marinette nod their heads, relief flooding their faces that they aren't in trouble. "Well I just came in to let y'all know that dinner is ready, Marinette you are welcome to stay for dinner if you would like." She says kindly, smiling.

       "Thanks Ms. Couffaine, let me just text my parents and ask." says Marinette. Anarka nods her head, "Come on Juleka, help me set the table." Says Anarka as she leaves the room, Juleka follows her out.

       Once they left, Marinette lets out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding, "Oh my goodness, that was so embarrassing," she says with a shaky laugh. Luka shrugs, "It's not like we did anything wrong, we just napped together." Luka says. Marinette still ends up blushing at the thought and Luka chuckles. Tikki pops her head out of Marinette's purse, "Are you going to text your parents and ask them about dinner Marinette? I'm hungry." Tikki says.

       "Oh right, thanks for reminding me," Marinette says and grabs her phone out of her purse and texts the question to her parents, they respond with a yes to her staying for dinner.

       "Alright, looks like we are staying for dinner Tikki," Marinette says, and then looks at Luka and he smiles at her happily. They get off the bed and walk out of the room.
