The night was young, creatures of all sizes scurrying around the forest floors going in no particular direction. Pale light washed over the trees, giving them a blue tint as they swayed in the cool night air. Peaceful. That was the best way to describe that moment. There was no killing or hunting or running or anything. There was just the calm of the wind and the soft pitter-patter of animals' feet. The world seemed completely serine with the worries of yesterday quickly fading away.
As Havana strolled through this peaceful moment she couldn't help but think about her former lover. She knew that she was alive but their link had already faded, severing all ties that she had with the girl that she would still die for. She could still feel the beat of her heart, hear her incessant thoughts that were far too consumed, obsessed even, with another girl that it made her sick but she knew that her and Skylar's life would never be the same. They were strangers connected by a common home.
There was nothing more that she wanted than for Skylar to be home but she was afraid of what would come of her. She was a liar and if it came down to her and Skylar fighting then she would surely lose. The girl that she loved was long gone and there would be no mercy on her part at all. She was scared.
Her thoughts plagued her as she strode further into the forest, getting lost in her thoughts and allowing them to take her wherever they pleased. She didn't notice the clumsy man following behind her, who made sure that his mate didn't make a run for it. He knew that his chance would be gone the instant that she was, so he stayed close, promising himself to do whatever he could to keep her by his side.
He knew that she didn't love him. Not one bit. But he used her cover up to strengthen himself and it was going unnoticed. People were beginning to trust him, simply because he was there. He hadn't lied to them or separated them from anything. He seemed trust worthy and strong and that's what he needed. He'd let the power of words work its magic as they made him more relevant.
Making sure to trail no more than fifteen feet behind, he stayed close wit h her, not really caring if he was caught in this moment. He already had it planned out. He was worried and wanted to check on his love.
They continued on like that till day break, where both of them had to turn and go back to the life that one bathed in while the other loathed it. The entire time Havana thought about her. She missed her smell and her rare smile. The way that she was completely overprotective and gentle sadden her. She would never belong to that girl again.
Fighting was an option but she didn't want to force her back into the old life that she was forced out of. She convinced herself that it was the best if she pretend that they not know each other.

The waves crashed against the boat as we soared through the salty waters. Getting to the pier took a little longer than we planned. With all of the cameras and hunting crews, we had to change our route at least fifteen times so that we wouldn't be detected. Without Zoey, I'm positive that I would have died or been recaptured. She led me away from the danger and helped throw them off our tails. My fur coat was perfect disguise for us and helped made sneaking around the boarders of the woods easy.
I wasn't exactly aware of where we were headed but I knew that it was better than that damned island. I wasn't even sure how I'd managed to escape. I just remembered the incessant biting that I unfortunately was forced to endure. What I woke up, I felt awoken but I didn't know how. I still felt like myself yet there was something darker growing with every second. Was this the effect of her poisonous blood? Had I been forced to grow as a beast just so that I could play the part? If that was the point, well then I nailed it. Although I had only been conscious for a little over three weeks, I knew that I didn't care about much. The killings, my escaping, the pain that others felt because of me; I didn't care about any of it. I actually wanted to remember killing something so that I could be satisfied in that but I've been dealt my cards.
