She blew out a hot breath, a soft sigh as she put her earbuds in. She changed into skinny jeans and a baggy navy blue sweatshirt with an eagle on it, slipping on some socks and her favorite cherry red converse. Her black bangs framed her face, each side a curly mess, the rest of her hair pulled into a bun. After putting on her gold wire frame glasses, she grabbed an L&M Red, waiting until she got outside before lighting the cigarette. As soon as she got outside, cold air hit her and seeped into her sweatshirt somehow, sending a small chill down her spine. Her dog immediately came running once it saw her, and she only chuckled as the German Shepherd pup nuzzled her leg repeatedly and barked excitedly, trying to jump up on her. She began walking down the driveway, just barely able to see her way around with the help of the porch light behind her. Her tired, pondering eyes flicked down to glance at her phone. Five nineteen in the morning.....if I'm lucky, I'll get to sleep by seven. She took a long drag off her cigarette as she walked, just staring around at the world around her bathed in a dark blue light from the early morning sky. She idly wondered what it was like to sleep at night, and not during the day. Damned nyctophilia... Soon enough, a drop of water formed on the tip of her nose, the fog around her thick enough to make water droplets on her skin, and make her clothes feel moist. Crazy ass mountains.... I swear, this place is magic or something.
Then again, there are witches on this mountian, according to the locals. Huh. Locals. My nearest neighbor is five miles away. Nearest town is fifteen. She took another much-needed drag off her cigarette before thinking. She always thought depressedly, so she never liked to do it much. She shut her eyes and took a soft breath as she thought of everything that had gone wrong in her life. The most recent thing being an encounter with her best friend since third grade, Sydney Angell, in which she confessed her feelings and dealt with immediate rejection. She bit her lip and opened her eyes, taking another drag. She still remembered the long blonde/brown curls, and mischievous green eyes always filled with light and intelligence. The pale skin she loved, and perfect seashell pink lips. Great....now I sound creepy even in my own book. She idly wondered if Sydney still checked Wattpad, and looked down at the app on her phone. She was immediately struck with guilt. The app hadn't been touched in a long time. She hesitated before opening sed app, a barely noticeable smile reaching her lips. I remember when I was popular on Watty....my stories, my roleplays, my message board were always teeming with activity. I wonder if I can make a comeback...  She paused her walk and rubbed the back of her neck. Yeah. I'll just follow a few people, update a few stories and boom bitch, I'm back.
