You looked over your outfit again. Ace was taking you out on your first date. He didn't tell you where you two were going but to dress comfortably.
"How does this look?" You turned to Nami, who was sitting on your bed. She was helping you pick out an outfit for your date.
"Looks good." Nami gave her seal of approval. You were wearing short with a black tank top and a red unbuttoned flannel over top.
Evidently, the flannel belonged to Ace. He had given it to you at his and Sabo's big send-off party to university. The party was by a lake, and you got colder as the night drew on. You're sure he only meant for you to borrow it, but he never asked for it back, and so you kept it.
"Great. Okay, he should be here soon." You checked the time on your phone. You quickly raked a brush through your hair that had gotten all messed up from you trying on different outfits.
There was a knock at the door, and you went to go answer it. Ace greeted you with a smile and a kiss on the cheek.
"You look beautiful. Are you ready to head out?"
"Thanks. You look good yourself." You said eyeing him up. He was wearing black boots with shorts and a short sleeved black button-up shirt that he left unbuttoned. He had no shirt on underneath, showing off his muscles and causing a blush to rise to your face. "I just need to put my shoes on."
"You two kids have fun." Nami called out as you left your dorm with Ace. You slipped your hand into Ace's hand and followed him down to the student parking lot.
Ace opened his car door for you and waited until you were seated before closing it. He got into the driver's side and started it up.
"So where are we going?" You asked. Your eyes glancing out the window and staring at the houses you passed.
"Patients. It's a suprise." Ace chuckled. He seemed to hesitate for a moment before placing his hand on your thigh. Colour rose to your cheeks and you peaked over at him. He met you with a happy lazy grin before returning his attention back to the road, his fingers gently kneading into your skin.
"I-I can be patient." You mumbled, and Ace chuckled. It wasn't long before he pulled into a crowded parking lot. Ace found a spot and hopped out of the car and came over to your side to open the door.
"Thanks. What is this place?" You stared up at the neon building that was in the center of the parking lot.
"A bit of everything. There's a food court on the first floor, arcade on the second, bowling on the third, and a mini carnival on the fourth."
"What's a mini carnival?"
"Anything they could fit inside." Ace grinned and took your hand. To your suprise, he passed by the food court and headed over to the elevator to go upstairs.
"Who are you, and what have you done with Ace?" You teased.
"I ate a big lunch. Besides, the carnival has better things to munch on." Ace stepped into the elevator with you and pushed the button for the fourth floor.
"Hmm, okay, I believe you."
"Good. Now come here." Ace tugged at the sides of your flannel and pulled you into his warm chest. You pressed your hands against his chest as you tilted your head up to look at him. He had his goofy boyish smile on his face. "I was wondering where this flannel went."
"If you want it back." Ace pressed his lips to yours before you could finish talking. His hand cupped the back of your head and pulled you in closer. His tongue pushed into your mouth. The kiss ended short when the elevator got to your floor.
