You kept hearing a rythmetic beeping, your throat felt dry, and both your arms felt restrained. You opened your eyes, but quickly shut them when you were met with a bright light.

"Hmm, (Y/N)?" The warmth that was enveloping your right hand and you felt someone tucking your hair behind your ears. You opened your eyes again and found Ace staring at you with relief on his face. "Thank god, your alright."

"Where... am I?" You croaked.

"The hospital. You have a broken left arm and a pretty big cut on your head. The doctors fixed you up." Ace leaned down pecking you on the forehead. You glanced down to your left arm, seeing that it was indeed wrapped up in a neon yellow cast. "I should tell your dad your up before he punches Detective Smoker."

It was only now that you realized that there was muffled yelling coming from outside your hospital room. Ace got up from the chair he was sitting on and went out into the hall. He came back shortly after qith your dad in tow.

"Oh, sweety." Your dad gently wrapped his arms around your shoulders and gave you a soft hug. He leaned back, his hands still on your shoulders as he looked you over. "How do you feel."

"Glad to be alive, but terrified." You mumbled, your throat still felt really dry. Ace pressed the call nurse button by your bed.

"I'd like to ask you a few questions Miss. (Y/N)." Smoker stood by the foot of your bed.

"Not until after I check over her." A nurse said as she came into the room. She held a stern look to her face as she picked up the clip board that was attached to the end of your bed. "Come on, everyone out."

The three men in your room left. A doctor came in shortly after, the doctor asked if you felt any pain while the nurse tested your eye reflexes with a pen light. Afterwards the doctor removed the bandages on your head and checked your stitches. The gash on your head went from your left eyebrow and stopped about an inch into your hair line.

"Everything looks fine. The nurse here will go over some care instructions with you." The doctor nodded before leaving the room. The nurse replied new bandages to your head while telling you how to properly for your stitches. She left once she was done and let your dad, Ace, and Smoker back into the room, they were joined by your three uncles and Koby.

"Here you go." Ace handed you a small cup of water. You gladly took it and gulped it down, relief washing over your dry throat.

"Glad to see your doing okay kiddo." Shanks smiled at you.

"Me too." You rested back in your bed.

"Mind telling us what happened?" Smoker asked once again.

"Uh, I left class late. I went to the elevator, but there was an out of order sign on it." You started.

"We checked the elevator, it was working perfectly fine." Smoker nodded.

"I see. Anyways I tried to call officer Brent, so he could come up or at least meet in the stairwell. But he didn't pick up.... then all the lights in the hall started turning off. I ran into the stairwell... where- where officer Brent was hanging." You shuddered at the memory of officer Brent's peeled back face.

"It's okay, take your time." Ace reached out and held your had.

"I tried going back out into the hall, but the door was locked and I heard the one above me open. So, I went to go down the stairs, but I slipped." You finished.

"Okay, and did you by chance see anyone else in the stairwell with you?" Smoker asked. Koby was next to him writing down everything you said in a notepad.
