Classes resumed back up and everything was back to normal. Or as normal as normal could get for you. You felt fine when you were in a crowd, like no one could hurt you with so many people were watching. But when you were by yourself you were suddenly aware that if something did happen to you, no one would be there to help.
Going back to class and work helped you feel like things were normal, but once you were back at your dorm by yourself, you felt a suffocating fear grasp itself around your neck. Nami's classes were all in the morning which meant she was usually gone when you woke up.
Ace still stayed at your dorm which was a big help, but there was a difference with you being a first year and him being a second year. Your teachers were nice enough of to readjust the class schedule because of the week that was missed. Ace's teachers were not. Instead of pushing assignments and lectures back, they decided to cram what was missed into the next week. That meant he had both morning and afternoon classes and a mountain of homework.
You knew you couldn't expect your freckled boyfriend to always be there for you, he had his own classes and homework to deal with. But on days like today, you wish his class would have finished early. It had been raining the whole day, it had gone down to a slight drizzle by the time you were done with your classes. Dark clouds still hung in the sky and most people had hurried back to their dorms to get out of the cold.
It was the devoid of people outside as you stared through the glass door. You were still in the building your classes were held trying to determine which friend to call to see if they could come walk with you to your dorm. You didn't want to ask one of the many students that had passed you by in case you accidentally ended up with your stalker.
Zoro? No, he'd get lost trying to get here.
Usopp? No, he'd get scared and turn straight back.
Sanji? Yeah, he'd probably be here in a heartbeat.
You scrolled through your contacts list looking for the blond's number.
"Hey, can I help you?" You jumped and nearly dropped your phone as you turned to face the person who just called out to you. You let out a sigh of relief when you saw it was one of the cops that patrolled the school. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. My name's Koby."
"I'm (Y/N)." You shook his outstretched hand. You noticed his uniform and pink hair were damp from the rain, little water droplets clung to the lenses of his glasses. "I guess you could help, if it's not too much trouble. Could you walk me back to my dorm?"
"No, trouble at all. Lead the way." Koby held the door open for you, you stepped out of the building and he followed alongside you. Your footsteps echoed against the wet sidewalk and your hair started to get damp from the light rain fall.
"So, what classes do you take?" Koby decided to strike up a conversation with you. Not that you minded, it was better than walking in silence.
"I'm taking a video game design course. So most of my classes are in computer animation, character design, and video game story telling." You replied.
"Sounds interesting. Too complicated for me though." Koby softly chuckled.
"Like being a cop isn't complicated." You sarcastically shot back.
"It is and it isn't. Somethings are repetitive." Koby shrugged. You nodded and turned down the sidewalk, the cafe coming into view. It's light illuminated against the sidewalk and as you two passed the place you could see there were no customers inside. They must have chosen to stay inside instead of going out in the rain to get a coffee.
You two were nearly past the cafe when a loud scream emanated from inside. You stopped in your tracks and turned to see Vivi running out from the back room. There were tears streaming down her face as she ran outside and nearly toppled into you.
