Chapter 13
It was unbelievable how much he looked like Fang. If he hadn’t of smiled I would have thought he was Fang. The fake Fang watched me, with a smug smile of his face. He looked me up and down, sizing me up. This is too weird.
“I have to go.” I mumble, unable to take my eyes off Fang. Still holding my gun, I rush out of the room, into the entrance, then hurrying out into the parking lot. Without considering the fact that people might be around, I unfurl my wings and leap into the air. I was freaking out. I flew up high getting far away from there.
“She can shoot and fly, I’m a lucky man.” Fake Fang smirks, flying next to me.
“What are you talking about?” I snarled, spinning around to face him.
“Well, you and Fang love each other or should I say you and me love each other.” He smiles; it was still captivating like Fangs which drove me mad.
“You’re not Fang!” I exclaimed.
“Well, no duh!” He exclaimed back, looking just as annoyed as me. “Look, can we talk? I promise I will answer any questions you got. And don’t try to deny it, I know you have questions. I promise I will explain everything.” He tilts his head to the side slightly lowering his chin looking at me with those amazing eyes. Fang’s eyes. This is what Fang did when he was trying to get me to do something. His version of bambi eyes. That Fang knew I couldn’t resist on him. How did the fake Fang know I couldn’t resist them?
“Fine, you hungry?” I frown. He nods, looking relieved I agreed. “Follow me.”
“This is amazing!”Fake Fang exclaimed taking another mouthful of burger. Yes, I brought him to the same restaurant Piper brought me, but only cause I love their burgers.
“Yeah, I know.” I mutter dryly. “Okay, we are here, now talk. How do you look like Fang? How long have you been around?”
“Well, honestly I’m not completely sure how I look like Fang. You’ll have to ask the white coats next time you seem them. I just woke up in the school one day lying on a metal table, I had no memories of growing up… well I did have memories but they weren’t mine exactly.” He frowned slightly, cringing a bit. “This was a little over a year ago.”
“Wow, a whole year. What have you been doing all this time, Fake Fang?” I slump in my seat looking bored. “And what do you mean by not your memories?”
“First of all, my name is Nick.” He snaps. “The first few months of my life I was being taught about you guys, the mighty flock. Although, I didn’t really need it. I knew everything already.”
“How?”
“I have Fangs memories, and I get new ones everyday so I always know what’s going on with him.” He grins knowingly at me. He would know me and Fang were back together. “Fang and I share many things. Appearance obviously, voice, memories, thoughts, personality, ability’s, and emotions.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I mean I’m exactly like Fang I think like he would think, I say what he would say, I fight like he does, my personality is exactly the same, and of course the emotions are kind of the same.” Nick explained. “I’m the newer generation of clone, more precise.”
“Why are you and his emotions kind of the same?” I ask now unable to hide my interest.
“Well, he hates Dylan, I hate Dylan. He loves you, I love you.” He explained, casually. I tense a bit. Great, now there are three of them. “The only difference is Fang is friends with Maya, he likes her. I hate her. Clones hate clones, no matter what.”
“Is Maya like you? I mean, does she have my emotions, does she have my memories, and does she download my thoughts like you do Fangs?” I realize my voice was kind of freaking out a bit and I tried to relax. But just the thought of Maya getting in my head freaked me out. It’s bad enough I have this other voice, but I barely hear from him. I seriously doubt there will be enough room in my head for the three of us. Relief flooded over me when Nick shook his head.
“No, she’s an older clone version. The only thing you two share is appearance and voice. If you have anything in common its normal nothing school related.” Nick reassures me, I could tell he was trying to make me feel better. Which only seemed to make me even more mad.
“Okay, you’ve been talking about clone versions? How many are there exactly? Who has a clone?” I ask, not letting my annoyance go unnoticed.
“Two. Old version 1 and New version 2. Me and Maya, that’s it.” He grins arrogantly and I kind of wanted to smack him. There was a big difference with Fang and Nick. Nick smiled a lot and he was talked way more than Fang. “You know I can’t believe I’m meeting you, I’ve heard so much about you and I know a lot about you but I actually get to talk to you.”
“Fang is going to freak when he meets you.” I points out. Nick nods slowly.
“Yeah, I know. Should we go now, get it over with?” He asks. “Rip off the band aid?”
“I guess.” I sit for a minute trying to process everything I just found out. The burger on the plate in front of me untouched, for once my appetite was gone. “I don’t even know what to say about all this.” I admit.
“I think the correct term, you’re looking for is O-M-G.” He smirks.
