I woke up in distress, there was a pain in my shoulder that felt like jolts of electricity. My bruises and the pain that came along with them have faded. I couldn't understand the new pain in my shoulder, it felt as if someone had striked me. I stumbled out of Matt's bed and towards my cell phone. It had turned off since I'd left it charging. The wire hasn't been working, I realized and let out a frustrated sigh. I fiddled with it again until it was charging and laid it back down.

"Why are you up?" I heard Matt's sleepy voice.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you," the clock on the bedside table read that it was nearing six am. I made my way back to bed and under the blankets. Seconds later, I felt Matt's body turn to face my back, he edged closer until I could feel his front on my butt.
I was sure that it was his groggily brain that was still asleep. I inched forward just to add some distance between us but his large bicep suddenly wrapped around my chest, pulling me closer into him.
"Matt," I whispered but he didn't respond. I felt his lips on the back of my neck and flinched,"Matt, stop."

"Come on," he whispered lazily," let's get our revenge."

"We don't need revenge," I pulled his hands off of me and sat up.

"They didn't have a problem doing it to us," he was suddenly wide awake," why should we feel guilty, like they haven't been back stabbing us and lying for the past four months!"

I let out a sigh and turned on the lamp that was on the bedside table," because we're better than them Matt."

"I don't want to be better, I want to hurt them like they hurt us, and you're a pretty girl Izzy, I'm a handsome guy, this can work if we want it to-"

"Matt, stop talking," I was reaching for my phone that was now at one percent. The screen displayed notifications of a dozen missed calls from an unknown number and the sheriffs. My heart sank to my knees at the idea of something happening to Caleb.

"It will feel good getting our revenge Izzy, come on, isn't that why you came here-"

"No it's not," I grabbed up stuff from the night stand table," get some sleep Matt, I have to go."

"You don't have to leave Iz, I'm sorry, please stay-"

"I really do have to leave Matt-"

"Seriously? Iz it's like 6am-"

"I'll call you soon."

I ripped the phone off the charger and jolted downstairs. I unlocked my car and slid into the driver's seat. I was mid trying to call back the sheriff but my phone had died.

"Fuck!" I screamed out and slammed the phone into the seat beside me. There was no charger port in this crappy old car," fuck, fuck, fuck!"

I was in full out panic mode as I debated what to do next. The only reason that the sheriffs would be calling me now would be to tell me that something had happened to Caleb.
I turned on my engine and sped straight to the station in hopes of finding him there.

When I got to the station, there were no cars parked outside but the lights were on. I took my chances anyway and parked my car to head inside. The front door wasn't locked and led me to the receptionist area. I could hear multiple voices at once and followed them to what looked like the sheriff's office. There were around a dozen men, some standing and some that were seated. They all turned to look at me with surprise, behind the desk, the sheriff stood up.
