What is this...?

The Ranger couldn't understand what it was that was going on. All they could see was that they were in some sort of wormhole.

There was a purplish glow going throughout each side, Y/N moving, suspended in the air.

...

A few flashes went by, and they saw Adora's sword, floating up in the air where the tears of the portal were originating.

"As soon as it's gone, everything will be right again... right again..."

Then they could see the landscape changing sporadically in response to the portal's instability.

...

Then they could see everyone, from their point of view when it occurred, standing before Micah and Angella before the floor collapsed, the portal tearing into the walls and castle.

"Wake up..."

Another flash of that same portal destroying their home, kneeling down in the barren land.

"Wake up...!"

...

...

...

"Y/N! Wake up!" Adora was lightly shaking their shoulders, their eyes clenched shut in the midst of such a nightmare.

There was a whole feeling of unease and uncertainty. Could the runestone have caused this? Could it have brought back those painful memories?

The Ranger stirred and would then jolt awake, taking a big, deep breath as they found themself back in the ship, laying down on the cot.

"It's okay! It's okay! Breathe," Adora did her best to calm them down, pressing her hand down onto their chest to let them know she was there.

...

"I'm right here."

They needed a few seconds to gather their thoughts, the light weight over their runestone giving them that gentle reassurance.

Adora didn't need to ask them if they were okay, only pressing her forehead against theirs as she gave them an opportunity to try and relax. During this time, she kept her hand over the same spot.

"Breathe with me, okay?"

They followed suit and mimicked her breathing, shutting their eyes.

...

...

When Adora pulled away, she made sure to give them a quick kiss on the forehead, brushing some of the fringes of their hair back.

"I hate these nightmares..." they breathed out.

Adora sighed, "I know..."

...

They sat up, Adora making sure to help them out since they hadn't been moving very much.

"How long did I fall asleep for?" They rubbed at their eyes.

"A few hours. We should be at Cephalon soon."

"Okay..." they yawned, stretching their arms out.

...

But mid-stretch they could feel a sneeze coming on, and Adora didn't realize as she had started speaking up again.

"I wonder how far out we actually are from Ether-"
