...

...

...

Y/N sat there, motionless as the tears on their face seemed to have dried up.

Adora was asleep, the Ranger cradling her into their chest, a hand on the small of her back, their shoulder keeping her head up as her cheek rested against their runestone.

She had cried so much she actually passed out, falling asleep entirely.

...

...

Y/N listened to her quiet snores, bags under their eyes as they held onto her free hand with their left, their thumb rubbing across the top of Adora's knuckles.

She moved around in her sleep, Y/N quickly lifting their hand away. Adora tiredly hummed, leaning into them, the same hand they had been holding pressing against their runestone.

Adora held at their spacesuit, hand on their chest. The fabric wrinkled in her grasp. It was the kind of grab a child would have when reaching out to their parent, just wanting to hold on and feel that warmth and relief.

...

Y/N weakly smiled, letting her body rest on their right arm, still somewhat sitting up as her head leaned against their chest and shoulder, just beneath their chin.

They planted a gentle kiss on the top of her head. As they shut their eyes, they felt their chest grow warm, eyes glowing an amber color as they opened them.

...

"How are you managing?"

I'm... alright, I guess...

...

...

"Are you sure? You should rest alongside Adora. You need it."

...

No. I don't.

I need to be able to comfort her. However I can. I can't sleep knowing that she's hurting like this.

I don't think I can after that whole incident...

"Y/N-"

...

...

Their eyes would stop glowing. The Ranger glanced down at the sleeping girl in their arms.

However, they heard the door to the cot whir open, and they swiftly put a hand over her ear so the sounds would be quieter and muffled. Basically, it was to keep her asleep.

...

"Y/N? Adora? You guys okay?" Catra stepped in, Melog in tow.

"We're okay," they explained, looking back at Catra, seeing as their back was to her on the cot.

The brunette approached, sitting on the bedside. She had gotten changed out of the space suit, wearing her normal attire.

Her ears were perched down in slight concern.

...

"She's sleeping. Passed out, actually," They told her in a whisper.

Catra looked at Adora, then at the Ranger. She could see how exhausted they looked.

"I'm surprised you're not asleep either," she muttered, trying to be quiet.

...

"I mean look at you. You're all beat up from that thing chasing you. I imagine Adora is, too." Catra gestured to their body, though it was tough to tell, apart from the cut in their arm.
