As she got to her car she tried calling Mike. His phone went straight to voicemail. He must be on the plane already. "Please, when you get this, give me a call. Some weird shit is happening."
She got in the car and drove to her parent's house. There, a big group of reporters waited for someone to give a statement. She got out of the car and tried walking through them. "Miss Fletcher , do you have anything to say about these allegations against your father?" She felt an arm pull her out of the multitude.
"No, she doesn't. Leave my clients alone. When Judge Fletcher is ready to make a statement he will. Come on, sweetheart." Lewis, her parent's lawyer said as he walked her to the door. "They are in the living room."
"Thank you." She walked into the living room where she saw her mother with a drink in her hand and her father leaning against the fireplace. "Mom, dad."
"Alice, you shouldn't have come." Julia said, downing her drink and serving herself another. Alice had never seen her mother drink like that.
"Julia, please. That's enough." He said trying to take the glass from her only to have her slap him. Alice gasped and covered her mouth.
"This is all on you! You're a bastard. All your late nights. How could've I've been so stupid?"
"Dad, please tell me this isn't true. Please tell me it's just a bad joke."
"A joke, Alice? That's what we are to him. Here, look for yourself."
"Julia, don't. She doesn't need to see that!" He tried to stop her but she had reached Alice already and handed her an envelope filled with pictures. Alice looked through them in disgust. Woman half naked doing unspeakable things to her father.
"Dad. What is this? How could you?" She asked, crying. He tried to hug her but she moved away.
"Alice. I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to come out."
"I need to get tested. You're probably full of diseases." Julia said, downing another drink. "Your father used to sleep around before we got married. I should've listened to my friends when they said that he was no good. But after we got married and had you girls he changed, I thought he had changed for good, but you've changed for the worst!" Julia said, pointing at Carl. "Prostitutes? How low can you get? People are going to be talking."
"Who cares what people think? All you care about is your image. Yes, I screwed up. But we are going to lose everything! No more country clubs, no more shopping outings. We might have to sell the house. I'm going to lose my job, Julia!"
"You took us all down with you."
Alice couldn't take anymore of her parents' argument. She was too upset to return to the dorm room so she went to her room.
