The next couple of days, Alice stayed locked in the house. She was too afraid to go out. Patrice had gone back home, which she was glad because she was afraid for her friend too. With Mike still on the loose, he might be capable of anything.

"I made an appointment with the doctor. It's tomorrow at nine." Julia said, interrupting her thoughts.

"I can't leave the house, mom."

"Sweetie, eventually you're going to have to. Didn't you say you wanted to keep the baby? Well, you have to make sure everything is okay."

"You're right." She said as the phone rang.

"Hello?" Answered her mother. "Yes, one moment. May I ask who is speaking? Alright. Alice, it's for you. They say it's about Mike." Julia said, handing her the phone.

"Hello?" Alice answered.

"Hi, is this Alice?" A man's voice asked.

"Yes, how can I help you?"

"This is Joseph Cunningham, I'm Mike's brother. I heard he did horrible things to you. I am so sorry."

"Do you know where he is? They are looking for him."

"I don't, sorry. I haven't seen him since he was a teen. The police came over and informed me of everything he has done."

"But he said he saw you a few months ago when he went to see his mother."

"Our mother? Our mother died in a fire with our dad when he was in high school. He has always been a troubled kid. He was sent to a reformed school after the fire, but he escaped with the insurance money and I never heard back from him. I've been looking for him since, didn't know he was in California. I love my brother."

"He told me you hated him."

"I don't hate him, I love him. He's the one that always felt resentment towards me."

"Are you even a lawyer?"

"No, I'm a teacher."

"He told me so many lies. He said his mother had mental issues and she was in a hospital most of his life, that's why he kept taking trips to Maine."

"No, she didn't have mental issues. He does. And he needs help. He's out of control by what I know now he's done. I don't think he has come to Maine, we live in a really small town, anyone would recognize him. But, I promise. If I hear anything I will let you and the police know. You have my word. I want to find him as much as you."

"Thank you. I have your number, I'll keep you posted."

"Thank you, you have a great rest of your day." He said hanging up.

"Who was that?" Julia asked curiously.

"Mike's brother. They haven't heard from him either. That means he's probably still here, roaming the streets, watching me. I can feel it, mom."

Julia came and hugged her. "You're safe now. The police are watching the place. He can't take you again."

"He was able to take me without no one noticing. He made sure no one saw him before. I'm the only one that can identify him. You know that video in the elevator at Thomas and Clark he made sure to keep his head down every time he got into it? There's no pictures of him! How can I be safe if no one knows what he looks like?" She said, throwing her arms in the air and walked away.
