A/n: So this was a story i've already posted on another site called Quotev, but I wanted to publish it on wattpad too because i'm an attention whore. I really don't know how Wattpad works as well as Quotev, so sorry if the formatting sucks. Another quick thing I want to add is that this is like one of my first fanfictions, and when I started it I didn't really know how to write anything so going forward my writing kind of sucks but trust me it gets better after like part 5, so bear with me my brethren 🙏🙏🙏

1986

It was Robert [Lastname]'s first World Cup, and ironically his last. He was a young football prospect from Japan, only 18 years old. He was the buzz of the world and was hyped up to be one of- if not- the greatest player of the newest generation. The world believed he would be the change Japan's football association needed to rise to the top. Brazil? England? Germany? None would hold a candle to the beast of a team Japan had for the world this time around.

And it was going well, with the help of Robert [Lastname] Japan managed to beat everyones expectation and completely crushed Argentina in the first round. Everything seemed to be going well, but one night everything turned on its head.

On the way back from the match, Robert [Lastname] was involved in a drunken car crash, and was seriously injured. His left leg was left completely mangled, and had to be amputated immediately, leaving him left with a prosthetic leg. The doctors said he was lucky to be alive, but if you asked him, he would have rather died in that accident. To live on without the ability to play football was equivalent to hell for him.

Though the tragic legacy of this young player had been forgotten by the majority of the public, it was engraved in your memory. How could it not? He was your father after all.

You stood at the window and gazed out at the backyard, where your father was training your brother, Loki. From afar, the two of them looked like clones, both sporting fire red hair that stood out compared to the rest of the world. You had inherited your hair from your mothers side, differentiating immensely from boys you lived with. Not only that, but they basically had the same facial structure and build, so it was no surprise you often felt like the black sheep of the family.

It was obvious he was projecting his failed dream onto your younger brother, it made you sick. You supposed your brother was lucky that he actually enjoyed football, as you were not blessed with the same fate.

Your father saw no worth in you, other than to act as a baby-sitter and manager for your brother. To say you got robbed of a childhood was an understatement, your maturity was far beyond even most adults, in your humble opinion.

In a fucked up way, despite him being a cold bastard, you still urged for his approval. You had kept up perfect grades all throughout school, studied multiple different languages, and had won multiple academic awards in science and math. By the time high school came, you had finally taken the hint that no matter what you did, your father would refuse to look your way.

If your father was the sun and your brother was his golden child, harboring all the accomplishments and attention, you would be the moon, whose only purpose is to support the earth. The only value you had was carrying Loki's equipment.

Though, you supposed your father's ideal had worked. As your brother had been recognized as one of Japan's youngest stars, and had even been invited to a training camp called "Blue lock" sponsored by the official Japanese football association to create "the world's best striker". In fact today was his last day, tomorrow he would be off to go play his football dreams.

You wanted to feel happy for Loki, you truly did. But an uncontrolable rage burned within you at the thought of your father getting what he wanted. All his child neglect and abuse would pay off, and he could've his dreams though his golden child son.
